Whoever made it  (kat is amazing?) appears to have run it through an ipod converter program that was set up for widescreen mode.  It worked fine, the sound was actually good, but when I watched it the first time I thought my player was distorting it until I saw the specs.

Let me say thanks to kat is amazing for the first cap and to Minnie for bringing it here to media.

Thanks again 'kat is amazing.' You should cap and post more!  mp4s are a doubly good contribution. CRB don't we need to figure out how to make widescreen iPod vids for HD vids or am I way behind? I haven't had much time to check into other converters.

I worked with the hrprincessaz from over at IDF, my making test videos and her testing my creations on her iPod, to come up with a spec for them and it pretty much moved us toward the idea that you originally had about using close to the maximum spec  that the iPod could handle and that decision led me to  trimming Vinman's videos down to performance only to get them iPod sized.

Even on a 2.5 inch screen bit rate matters.

I've been converting  them and have ~85% of them done.  The key to it was that the Output Container in Super has to be set Apple iPod to make a video usable by the iPod, if not you've got to run another conversion on the MP4 to make it so-called MP4v.   When you set that as the output container it puts up the right size options as well  that don't distort the video.

Why do you want a ripped  flv of the YouTube video?  Filesize? 

If you want a really good flv get differentlife's file and make one with Super.  It would be far and away better than the rip of either of those YouTube ( the smashed one or my aspect corrected one)  variants for any particular size file that you wanted. 

Is there a particular reason that you wanted a flv rip of an inferior quality file?
