that was so cool!! now we know that gay people love kat! and open toes haha. so good to see her song being used in something like that GO KAT!! and i agree phee, either open toes next single or the one after that. i think it would be a great summer song as well

Yeah, thanks for finding that one!  When you see it in that context and you see people having so much fun with the song.  It takes away some of that nagging, "the lyrics to the song are so silly" that makes you wonder if it could be a hit.  But believe me...some of the stuff out there that's big right now.  I'm thinking about the two-time reigning "This Is Why I'm Hot" on the Hot 100 right now.  Lyrics are overrated.  Open Toes is a lyrical masterpiece compared to "This Is Why I'm Hot".

I'm hoping for Not Ur Girl & Open Toes as the next two singles.  Let Kat have some fun for awhile then slow it down with Home when the leaves start falling from the trees in September/October.  Or even Neglected since it's one of Kat's faves.

^Frankly, all lyrics in the Top 40 now are not only irrelevant--but frequently indecipherable. Strange that the songs with the best lyrics end up on the AC charts or other alternatives. I don't know what you can call Top 40 in that instance...even though "Pop" music has more or less always been that way from the beginning.

That was an interesting vid--and gives those of us who've never been in one of those places (and if you have, speak up now! ) to see what the environment is like. Based on that lip-sync/dance performance with 'OT'--gay clubs seem a lot cleaner than the straight ones. In a straight club, you'd probably get dancing a lot more provocative than this was. This seemed like a Disney show compared to some of the dance moves and wardrobe you see even on MTV music videos. Maybe that's because gay clubs focus on the art of modern dance and not worrying about how provocative you are. That says a lot...and, obviously, Kat knows that the focus is more on the dancing there as she's said.

At the same time, seeing those guys doing those cheesy dance moves had to make you giggle a little. And I'm assuming that wasn't a real woman...though don't ruin the mystery! Hopefully he/she will find a better way of collecting that cash people were handing her/him. At one point, one of the bills was thrown on the floor of the stage.

Yes, 'OT' really needs some energetic dance moves with it to make it work better. Just seeing those dance moves with it makes it a much hotter song and makes you root it on to become a single soon.

When the album came out, I immediately gave one to a friend who is a stylist at the salon here in the center next to the gallery.

"Listen to this," I said. "Tell me what you think."

The next day, he comes driving into the parking lot, windows down, stereo on high blasting "Open Toes".

"What do you think?" I asked him.

"Oh my God. I love that song. Love it, love it, love it! Great album. And oh my God, she's absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful face. And that hair...to die for."

I told him to keep the album and play it for his friends. He enthusiastically assured me he would, and told me that "Open Toes" is the perfect song for the gay bar scenes in DC, Annapolis and Baltimore.

"This song was made for me and the other ladies to dance to," he told me. "We play our music LOUD. And this song sounds really good loud."

As Teilah said below, the gay community could take this multiple platinum all by itself. Go Kat!
Katharine's summer is full of hope, full of potential, and promises to provide many bouquets to grace the home that I call my heart.
