It wasn't shown because of his Libby trial verdict coverage. However, Larry did announce the results of Monday's text vote question about the Idol judges. It  was like 35% yes, 65% no. Unfortunately, I don't remember the question. Are they being harsh this year? Something like that.

BUT before he announced that, he said (paraphrasing) "Katharine McPhee was scheduled, but..." He didn't mention JHud. Is that significant? Do we know that this was the previously taped show that was supposed to be shown?

We actually think it may be a live show diff, because the Larry King Live website was asking for viewers to submit questions on the LKL website to ask Katharine very recently. This delays in this gig are starting to become almost comical at this point

In my personal opinion, the Larry King Live Show is not the right promotional vehicle for Katharine. It has been so easy for them to brush her aside in favor of current news, plus the fact that she will not be performing. There are other shows, albeit in NYC, that she could be appearing on and performing as well. They missed The Letterman Show, Good Morning America, and Saturday Night Live to mention a few. Any of these could have been more beneficial for promo rather than the bogus Tyra Banks thing or the almost-appearances on Larry King.

The "Tyra Banks thing" might have ended up being the highest profile appearance Katharine did in the last month, well that and Leno which always brings a huge audience. Is having your breasts "authenticated" via physical examination by a former supermodel on television a  net positive or negative. That point is debatable, but that it "had legs" is undeniable.

I'm sure Katharine's team explored the possibility of being on the shows you mentioned, but her schedule really had her looking a bit ragged toward the end of January. Moreover, those opportunities likely didn't present themselves.

Perhaps, in time, appearances on those show will materialize. It's a marathon not a sprint. She really needs to get on more radio stations, that will ultimately be the determining factor for Over It and the album.  I'd like to she her hit some major radio stations with personal appearances and maybe do a few CD signings at record stores in a few major cities.  Something a little closer to her fanbase.  Is seeing her sing Over It on another national television show really going to be that big of a plus at this point after the saturation of the last month?  And even if it is a big plus,  perhaps  with expanding radio play it could be an even  bigger plus in another month or so.  Maybe use those appearances to announce a tour?

I do agree that a Larry King Live appearance seems to be demographically at odds with who her album is aimed at. I suspect that is seemed like a major national market exposure opportunity when is was signed up for and too good to pass up. In that light, I'm not sure that I would say "NO" to a LKL appearance, even now.

I find myself wondering about Larry King, Leno, Today, etc appearances. Although I always enjoy seeing her, I'm wondering if these even reach the target audience for this CD. The older people in my office (my age...and loved "Somewhere Over the Rainbow") don't like the "Over It" type of music, and that's who I picture watching these shows. The one 30-ish person (who loves the CD, by the way) listens to NPR and doesn't even watch TV, except for maybe American Idol. I don't have any contact with younger people, what do they watch anyway? I think I agree that radio appearances may be good at this point. Of course, I thought the TRL hosting would help, but I don't see that happening. She's got to get some traction with the age group this CD was targeted for. I'm not sure LKL will help with CD sales.

I agree 100% zzyzx. I'd like to see Kat on Saturday night live. That would be a really good show for younger fans to hear her music and with her great sense of humor she'd be a wonderful guest.

What about everone writing or emailing NBC or SNL and telling them we would like to see her there? Probably a dumb idea, but...
