Next ones will have a little less video fluff.
Anyone else think Katharine could do this co-hosting gig full time? She became such a natural as the week went by! Although I still think she doesn't need to hold the microphone as high as she does. I think that's a "singer's" thing. It's not necessary when you are just talking into the microphone. I kept going, "Stop covering your pretty face with that microphone, Kat!"
I bet she co-hosts again (only for a day) when her second video comes out probably in late April/early May.
Anyone else think Katharine could do this co-hosting gig full time?
Absolutely! Kat is incredibly multi-talented and extremely smart --she could do an hour-long talk show like Tyra, Ophra or Ellen if she were so inclined. (But I personally hope she saves talk show or other hosting for the distant future.) In fact, I'm certain Katharine's got everything it takes to actually revitalize the entertainment world’s appreciation for excellence, and for her complete mastery of stage, screen and television ...as well as new venues and new media formats most of us can’t even imagine –such as her guest appearance on the Internet serial, "Lonelygirl15"! ....and I pray that God will touch, and richly bless, her every endeavor!

Day 3 is upping. Day 4 is encoding
If you prefer cut up files, you can split into multiple AVIs with software such as Solveig AVI trimmer. Pretty intuitive to use http://www.solveigmm.com/?Products&id=AVITrimmer VirtualDubMod. Less intuitive, but much more versatile http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/
Thanks diff, that was really great. Katharine's best performance on TRL. She is just so utterly charming and adorable and natural and beautiful. Yeah, we've all said it a thousand times before but once more I feel it is worth remarking on.
Her personality and beauty alone should be enough to make her #1 on the charts. But beside that she is wonderful talent and though I'm not expert in modern music, it is a fine album, better than any of that stuff you can hear snippets of onTRL. XTina playing all 3 Andrews sisters doing "Boogie woogie bugle boy of company B"? Well that is original. NOT! (And no, I wasn't around in WW2).
I don't understand why she is still slipping down the charts. Be lucky to make 20,000 this week. And she was even behind Kellie Pickler in the earlier reports when less than 20% were in.
I guess it is a problem of perception. Because we spend so much time on her and basically I only pay attention to any media that she is in so it seems to me that she is everywhere. But we know her radio audience reach is still only 8 million. If no one is hearing it why would they buy it? Daughtry's is 75.
On the bright side her video was number 2 overall at youtube yesterday. No, not the "Over It" video, the Tyra Banks video.
Anyway, I still think this album is going to be a hit. It may take another single - Open Toes - to do it though.
I edited the video: - synced the audio, more or less (the broadcast was out of sync by about 5 frames) - fixed the beginning of the audio - patched over the audience cheering with the song ending - downgraded the audio to 22050Hz, 96kbps mp3. - setup the video starting position so you can add back your own high quality audio (see below)
In summary, the audio is relatively crappy so no real concern about distributing the audio within the video.
Sure the TRL audio isn't exactly CD quality audio, but it's better than I would feel comfortable posting for a studio cut. So I knocked the audio quality down to 22050Hz, 96kbps mp3. It's still ok sounding but nowhere near CD quality. But I also provided an easy fix, provided you have your own audio file. I chose the starting video position so that all you have to do is take your *legal* CD, rip the audio file, then pop it into the video file. You shouldn't have to edit the audio rip. In theory anyway. It worked for me using 2 different rippers (Windows Media Player 11 and Exact Audio Copy). If you rip to uncompressed PCM/WAV, it should have 0.219 second of silence at the start before the music starts. If it doesn't, use an audio editor to make the silence 219 milliseconds, give or take 10 milliseconds. Instructions to add in your own audio file FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE ONLY Beginner to intermediate level computing skills required, Windows Installing Virtualdubmod Get virtualdubmod here: virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net "Downloads" VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_All_inclusive.zip Unzip into c:\program files\virtualdubmod\ or wherever you want to install it Download "VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_b2542.zip" under "bugfix" Unzip to same folder, overwriting files Using Virtualdubmod *Run virtualdubmod.exe which you unzipped in the virtualdubmod folder *Drag your AVI video file with downgraded audio onto the Vdubmod window. Or do an old-fashioned File > Open. *You should see the video's starting frame in the window *Streams > Stream list *Disable *Add *Choose your audio file *Open If you chose a variable bitrate MP3 file, press No if you get a warning *OK *Video > Direct stream copy File > Save as *Choose a new filename *Uncheck all checkboxes *Save You should now have a video with your own legal audio. Please do not distribute your new video file! I recommend you name it so you don't accidentally upload it, something like "NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION - penalty of death applies.avi" Enjoy! mwahahaha I'm well on my way to converting everyone into video editors!
Thanks, diff. You're awesome!! (I hope you don't mind hearing that ) I think they show the full videos on the VH1 countdown most of the time, so there will be some good capping opportunities there assuming we can get her on there.
Can someone rip the streaming version from mtv.com? The quality's pretty good and there's no junk on the screen to get in the way of our viewing pleasure.
