Just so everyone is clear on what the EPK is,  RCA sends out information to the media in the form of a so-called press kit.  It has pictures,  video clips, and magazine scans  that the media can add to their Kat coverage.  Most of the "exclusive"  and "behind the scenes" video stuff we have seen in the last week was likely sourced from press kits like this one. 




I'm getting it Phee but I think that title sounds scary to non-technical people. They read that and think you've got some kind of strange new video tool. trippy11 is really coming through on the vids int the last week. Here is another keeper that without trippy11 I don't think we get.

Thanks for bringing this over Phee. And anyone who is scared of 155 MB files....get Over It.

I thought everyone knew EPK by now! Just one more of the many things we have had to learn in the last year.

I was actually working with destinyxx, we had got the .vob files off the DVD and converted to avi and half way uploaded when trippy11 posted her link. Anyway, I learned a lot and here is a usefull tool for you:

Rips and decrypts a video off a DVD. That and Super, the worlds greatest video file converter, and we are set to boogie!

Wow...a 20-minute video?  I was wondering where all of this behind-the-scenes stuff came from.  Obviously the media was getting it from somewhere.  Yeah, I don't understand why they wouldn't put something special together and release it with the CD.

They could re-release the CD with a few extra tracks plus some behind the scenes videos.  That would be cool.

WOW, this was definitely worth the wait of 44 minutes for the download.  I luv this kind of stuff,  a behind the scenes look of what goes on...the creative people, the photogs, the writers, the producers of  Kat's music. Listening to her say, "I worked hard, learned a lot, enjoyed the process" narration was fab. Kudos to the editor who condensed this vid to 20 minutes, not an easy task. This vid covers all facets of her personality and succeeds..her goofiness, sexiness, warmth, intelligence...

They covered "Love Story," "Open Toes," and "Everywhere I Go"; nice to see Babyface and Walter A working with her. I especially enjoyed the segment on "Ordinary World" my favorite song on the album. Is it possible they're promoting "OW" for a single!! I've heard her mentioned that it took two months to make the album...how many hours a day did she spend in the studio...lots, I'll bet.  In between, she was making appearances on TV, radio, parties....  Throughout it all, Kat manages to always look fresh, hip, sexy and beautiful!

The A-Z of presenting Katharine McPhee in 20 minutes. Wow, professionally produced and managed by her publicist, Roger W.  and Guy Oseary, her manager. BTW, he also manages Madonna!  Anyway, I am impressed with Kat's team, first rate all the way.  WOW. I'm giving Kat's EPK out of 5!
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

Nice!  I can't wait to get home and download this.   While we're explaining what EPK means, I don't think anyone said what it stands for, Electronic Press Kit.  It took me a minute to figure that out.  It took me a lot longer to figure out wth LKL was.

Yeah, if they packaged that in with a CD, i'd have to go buy another one, because that's the only way I'll ever get to see this at this point. it's probably way too big to do anything with it but download it. I don't know if there are enough of us to boost album sales, but you never know.

Youtube version: Sorry the quality is so bad! The original file is 156 MB. I didnt; want to wait forever uploading it so I saved it as lesser quality seeing youtube just thrashes it anyway. Maybe I went too low. My resulting files were 11MB each, which is about what youtube ends up with, so maybe not.

ok so i downloaded the video .... but i get sound and no picture
i know this has been touched on other threads, but i can't remember them right now...
i've been having this problem with all AVI files....
what can i download so i can watch this??

The big problem recently has been the reverse - video buy no audio.

I suggest you download the latest media player and real player and divx and vcl media player then you should be covered. Just google each one with the word "download".

Just media player should do for this one, I've not heard of any problems.

This is absolutely an amazing and candid Katharine trip. This whole video should be a Television show "THE MAKING OF A SUPERSTAR"
