Did you notice that was lovely co-host Vanessa Manillo who lost to Kat for "Big IT" Girl!. They both hugged at the end!     Yeah, the third singer was absent today....but they all including the band sounded great!
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

1) What happened to the third back-up singer?

Thanks, I was glad you put it on here because I missed it on MTV!! Good performance... she looks a little bit tired, but thats definitely understandable considering her schedule for the last week!! Oh, and good point Barlo, where is the 3rd backup singer?? So observant...

Kat's really in the groove now. There was a nice reverb (if that's the right term) in the studio, and she's got a good "wiggle" routine.

^Looking forward to your more hi-def download of the show, Diff. I watched the one from IDF earlier this evening--and the picture quality in that was fair to good. At least they did a good job of editing on the commercials. That helps a lot when pressed for time.

This performance of 'OI' is the one that all future ones will be judged by. Though I think that means Kat and the band have it down now and can give a compelling performance every time. The surroundings of that TRL studio were awesome, though, and it shows that good sound and lighting can make some difference. Nevertheless, all credit should go to Kat for likely figuring things out musically so it works. If they let one of the backup singers go--it may or may not have been her own decision. But having a lighter backup makes the song work better and makes Kat work out her vocals more, which is what it needs. Also, Kat's bringing her own little Katisms to the ending now that put her own personal stamp on the song. It doesn't sound as generic that way.

Overall, you could see Kat really concentrating and enjoying the performance--and that makes all the difference. After this one, I want to see her perform it live again now. I wasn't so sure after the Leno performance.

Well, heck, if Kat's planning on doing some covers (she may do 'Lovely Day' somewhere soon)--she could easily do that 'Gonna Make You Sweat' song from the early 90's that she had on her Top Ten list.

It was a good move to remove one of the backup singers. It was far too heavy on backup originally. They are still ironing out the kinks, but this way, Katharine's vocals are showcased. It's still possible that the third backup will still be used on songs like "Dangerous" and a few others.

I love the way she dressed, with less make-up, low-heeled shoes and not so overdressed, which is perfect for this kind of shows.

oh I am TOTALLY the one in the GREEN!!!!!   It was amazing... look closely when she gives the fans a hug... I give her a bear hug...hehe this video makes me SOOO happy!!!!!! Before, during commercials and stuff, I talked to her and she said she recognized ME from the tour!!! How crazy is that?!?!  she was sooo nice!! It made me love her even more (which I didn't think was possible)
