Kat even uses a cooking knife with her left hand!  I do the same thing...though when dealing with knives, you have to be even more careful--especially when your right hand is close by. At least Kat was cutting slowly and not pretending she was a master chef...

This should be a good show--so thanks for the link to the preview. In fact, it might give us more insight than anything so far. To be honest, most of the other appearances have been too short when I always enjoy seeing Kat talk as much as I do singing. I hope she'll get to perform 'LS' on RR--though it appears 'OI' is the only one, which is only understandable.

I see over in the photo section that people on IDF created some kind of long acronym quote with Kat holding the mayo jar. I have my ideas what that means...but I'm not even going to suggest anything. Is this going to start a Kat McMayo contingent now?

Obviously, Kat was making some kind of salad there. Though I don't know why they were using the blender to make it. It looked good, though, as a healthy alternative. Lots better than opening a jar of mayo and eating it all with a spoon. Some people have watched David Letterman once too often if they try that--even though American diets are going that way regardless.

Try this but use firefox, firefox will start streaming right away, IE takes about 5 minutes.

It is quite primitive - no controls - but better quality than youtube will be and all in one file. Try it.

Kat was terrific. I like this even better than the CBS show, she sounds so powerful here and looks a lot more relaxed compared to her other performances of OI in other shows. Thanks for sharing, Phee.

I agree, this was her best OI performance. I think they pre-taped this in the afternoon so it wasn't onfeof those 8 am performances (5 am PST). I am sure that made a difference. Rachael also made her comfortable too which helps. She seemed to belt some of the notes out instead of trying to sing in between her regular voice and headvoice and I think that helped. Those difficult to sing in between notes are easier to nail in the studio, tougher live. Definitely better performance. I had just finished watching LS on the Early Show and then into this, so two good ones back-to-back.

I agree.  This was the best "Over It" by far.  I think this version would impress people and get them to at least go sample the record on the Internet.  The Leno performance...not so much.  And she did well on The Early Show too.  I think she's done well on every show except for Leno really.  Some are better than others but all have been good.  Leno was just...it was bad all around.  Sound, the backup singers & Kat not having things worked out...the late bass player switch, etc, etc, etc.

Love Story's a good song for her to perform.  It would be better if she was wearing something she could move around better in.  Although she doesn't have that much stage to work with so...she'll have more freedom at Kimmel tomorrow I'm guessing.

Except this was recorded last week! I don't think it is a matter of working out the kinks and slowly getting better and better, it is about Katharine not performing at 4 am LA time (This was taped in the afternoon) and feeling good, as Rachael obviously made her feel.

I think the schedule is just too grueling, add a bit of jet lag and probably lack of sleep in general, and we are gettting the less than perfect later performances.

Not that they are that bad, they are far better than most live performances on TV, but when we see perfection, as in this show, it shows up all the more the imperfections of other performances.

In the intro piece, we get Kat telling us yet again that she's not as innocent as she appeared on AI. That's curious because, once again, we see that she's just about the sweetest public figure the world has ever seen. Her attitude, body language, sense of humor - she's just pure sugar.

I know she'd like to lose the "Ruby Slipper Girl" image, but the loving of animals and children and the stable, longterm relationship with a sensible guy thing isn't helping...

Sorry Kat, but I can't even picture you taking extra hot sauce packets at Taco Bell.
