Hello to all in Katharine Fans land.  I'm new over here although I've posted plenty of stuff over in the quagmire that has become the "American Idol" message board for Katharine.

I've been meaning to come over here for a few weeks.  I actually found this place when I heard about Katharine's letter to everyone on I think July 11th.  The one that explained how she was on voice rest and don't listen to anything unless it comes from her or her family, and that she was watching lots of movies late night (which I immediately thought, what movies, Katharine?  Tell us!).  That one.

So that's how I found you guys and I kept meaning to get myself over here because the AI board was driving me nuts with all the crazy negative people and I just kept getting sidetracked.

Then, finally last night, I decided it was time.  Now that Katharine's back and (almost) better than ever (given that she's not totally ready to do her entire set on the Tour) I figured that it would be a good time to jump since we will now have more fun things to talk about instead of sickness & Tour cancellations.

OK, as you can tell I'm capable of being a little wordy in my posts (and I also have conversations with myself inside these parenthesis all the time  which I hope is somewhat entertaining or funny) so...if you like that, I hope you enjoy what I'll try to bring to my new little Katharine home.

Thank you all for providing such a welcoming & positive forum for all of us to talk everything Katharine.  Because I certainly needed it.

Oh and thanks Gregoriancant for telling me to do this.  I wouldn't have thought to have done the introduction thing.

Welcome aboard sjwolves! Yeah, it's time to move out of the AI board. I was once an active poster too but was done with it after the finale. Now the AI board to me looks like an empty shell as quality posters are driven away by its insanity. You'll find a very different mood here in KMF as the topics and discussions are much more thoughful and positive. Also, you won't find trolls and bashers here.

Oh, don't worry about long postings as we do have a few fellows joining you. When it comes to lengthy post, Gregoriancant is the champ here, and probably followed by katfan49. So feel free to post and have fun.

Yeah, I'm familar with both Gregoriancant & KatFan49.  They are both very good & very thoughtful (very, very, very thoughtful at times) contributors.

Thanks for the welcome.  Plus, the off chance that Katharine might actually read something on here is kind of exciting.  I almost feel like I have to apologize when I say anything remotely critical (even though I'll always mean it in the best and most constructive way).

Well, we haven't gotten to the very, very, very thoughtful stage yet because we don't bloviate on nuclear physics here...yet.

Good to see your official welcome in here, sj, and your posts are going to be put to good use here. I know it's frustrating to write a long opinion on something and just have it get brushed off by spammers and people who are more interested in playing role-playing games. That's pretty much the aftermath at the 'AI' board now. Let them go off into oblivion. Hopefully we can save some to come over here before it trails off into that void.

I nominate Don (KatFan49) for the champ title--even though he usually saves it appropriately for his brilliant essays. With me, I think every single post is a potential essay. But that's all spontaneous while thoughts happen as I'm writing. And once you get started writing...

It all depends on the subject, of course. The most wonderful thing about Kat is that she's really all-encompassing in discussions that reach far and wide. She encompasses, the arts, health, world news in various degrees. We get a chance to expand on all that right here in a higher-quality way.

Again, good to see you here. Hope you got my email last night...

I enjoy this board more than the AI boards myself.  Here we get true info, fewer bashers...it has gotten quite annoying over there.

sj, it is good to see you here.

This is definitely the place to be. KMF is a celebration, an opportunity to take part in an experience that we will remember for many years to come.

You and Greg are too kind. I so enjoy sharing what talents I have with the folks here. As I said in a post here somewhere, it's all about the fans. And you too will find that the inspirations which come to you are a direct result of the wonderful folks that populate this forum. Chad and the moderators here have done a wonderful job of putting this site together and keeping it positive, uplifting and informative. There is no better place to be for a true Katharine fan.

Yes, it is nice that Katharine has chosen to share her more personal feelings and comments with all of us here. She truly cares about all of us as much as we care about her. KMF is at long last beginning to get the exposure, though Chad's efforts, that this site so richly deserves. If Katharine ever needs a boost, or a helping hand, I'm sure that she knows this is the place to come and have the batteries recharged. Through us, her family is expanded throughout the world, and she knows that here she has a never ending list of grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters.

Thanks everyone for the welcoming notes. Um, yeah I do have a slight tendency to be a little long-winded all the time. Not just for specific things. For example, one time I was going to post the ridiculously long and detailed breakdown I had sat down and done of everybody's performances on Idol (only the Top 12 actually) and....I just had to stop myself because I was boring myself. The reason I wanted to figure the stuff out though was because I was curious to see if I could unbiasedly (well I try as best as I can to be unbiased toward a certain contestant although it is kinda hard to not favor Katharine) break it all down and come up with who I thought was the best by just breaking it down sort of scientifically.

I'll spare the details but my results came out....Katharine, Chris, Taylor, Paris, Elliott, Mandisa...and I don't remember the rest. But the funny part is that if Katharine had gone home on Elvis night, Chris probably would have won my "unbiased" breakdown. That's how close I had them. They are my two favorites. If it were up to me...the show in Sacramento would be Chris for about 30 minutes and then Katharine for two hours (or maybe two days).

I could sit there and listen to her sing forever. Anyway, like I said thanks for the welcome. I love it here already.

Thank you all for the nice welcome. I would very much love to post here - ONLY FOR KATHARINE. I have a feeling I'm gonna have a real blast writing when I get a longer time thinking deeply, but I don't see that hard at all now that Kat is back to cause an extra bolt of thunder and lightning. I tried to watch the DC performance video and was so excited to hear Kat's voice singing BHTC again, OMG. I have admired that voice so much before, but as I listened last night, I felt like falling in love again (quoting from Paula). ---mattsie
