Hi everyone, Thanks to KatFan49 for telling me about this forum. I joined AI board as an experiment. There I tried to conduct myself respectfully and rationally at all times. I tried to react to relentless attacks on Kat by remaining positive and respectful, and asking people to be reasonable. I reminded Taylor Hicks fans relentlessly that crossover sales may be the key to his ultimate success as an artist. It didn't work. The AIBoard is now no longer about conversation, it is about elaborate and fundamentally dishonest forms of one-upmanship, although some fine people hang out in the Kat board. Enough negativity. I'm here because I am a fan of Kat's. She's a special person, a gentle soul who despite her amazing gifts possesses that wonderfully inexplicable self-doubt of a true artist. It is up to us to let her know that the self-doubt that drives her to perfection should never give way to depression or any serious questioning of her ultimate destiny --- stardom, and our grateful admiration. I happen to feel that, besides being a truly special person, Katharine has an unusual cross to bear --- she attracts more irrational hate than any public personality I've ever seen. Who could anticipate the energy that hundreds of people invest daily in finding fault with literally every public gesture that Katharine makes? Is it precisely because she is so extraordinary? This afternoon, something unusual happened. Several Taylor Hicks fans actually apologized publicly after seeing Kat on The View. They had enough honesty to admit that, yes, it was very obvious that Kat was still recovering, and had indeed had an illness. Why would anyone doubt that Katharine was ill? The logical contortions shown on numerous forums were literally amazing! So Katharine is special, and fascinating, in many respects. I have a strong feeling about injustices done to innocent people. I believe that Katharine would have been a great and unifying American Idol Champion had the incredible misjudgment of Yellow Dress Night not have happened. I have written about this particular show under several names in several forums. I feel strongly that it is the single most deplorable event I have ever seen watching talent competitions of any kind. As you've already seen, I bring strong feelings and a tendency toward long-windedness along with a passion for Katharine's talent. Feel free to yank me from my soapbox if I get out of line, Alex

Good to have you here. I've read a few of your posts over there, but I haven't been hanging around there as much as I used to. I stopped in today to just get a feel for the reaction to The View segment. I hope your time here is enjoyable and fun. A great bunch of folks are here and the family of katharinefans is truly a blessing to be a part of. Don't worry about the long posts, myself, Gregoriancant, Kenneth and a few others do the same thing. Do it for the fans, and all will be fine.
