Okay this post's original author is Ken from IDF. I help him to relay this IMPORTANT message to all international fans here at KMF. Please read and keep it bumped if you want to help making more people to vote for Kat! Thankssss! First off, I recommend you using Skype.com to try to see if you can vote (US fans please only use phones/cellphones!!!). But if you can't vote, there are definitely things you can do to have an impact and create more votes. Here's how: Most of the 30-40 million Americans who watch American Idol are casual viewers. I was one until this season. A lot of things slip over there head. Like: * Voting Is Free * The Number For Katharine. They are so captivated by her beauty and boobs that they don't really process the information with regard to telephone numbers * People generally vote more than once -- at least those who decide the competition. And, 10 times is not power voting. You need to vote for as long as possible. * You Need a Cingular-service Phone to Text Vote. Your text messages will not count as votes with sprint or verizon or whatever. I actually did that this season! * Perhaps most important, if you can't get through on your cell phone via a call, try your landline. Sometimes landlines work so much better. Sometimes cell phones work sooo much better Now what does the casual fan do after watching a show? They don't necessarily plan on voting. They just want to find out more about Katharine McPhee, or see what idol fans are saying about the performance. Or they need to look up the phone number. So believe it when I say casual fans will hit up the official Katharine AI forum, and that's where YOU come in and create votes! Basically, there are news threads every few seconds. So if you create a thread, it could be off the page in less than 10-15 seconds. What we need are posts with the Information we want to send out IN THE SUBJECT LINE.... not in the body of the post. Casual fans will come and scan the subject lines, and the information is much more likely to be read if you put it there! Now an interesting note: The AI Sticky with Katharine's Phone Number ONLY LISTS THE FIRST NUMBER in the subject line. It does NOT list both. Unfortunately, so many casual fans and even some hardcore fans waist there time trying to get through on ONE number when the second is much freer and easier to get votes in. What we need is a Message at the top of the page with BOTH numbers. It's going to involve you bumping it every few seconds to keep it at the top of the page. So while us in the US are hitting the resend buttons on our Cingular phones and getting in 1000 votes in, it will be your job to be hitting the reply button on threads and bumping your thread every few seconds. I did this last week while voting at the same time. I'd reply and then literally press the keyboard: hu (click reply) jk (click reply) juh (click reply) bhjju (click reply) bju (click reply) And I kept on the top of the page. My posts did not get deleted by mods nor was I banned. Perfeclty ok. Others caught on in my request to keep it bumped up and were helping me. I passed out 30 minutes into pacific voting hours, exhausted. But I know you guys will carry us through with the time zone difference. So we will need threads basically with different subject line themes: IE: "Test Your Landline and Cell Line to See Which Is Less Busy, It Can Make A Huge Different" or "Kat's Numbers: example: 1866 436 57 followed by 08 OR 04; Test Both, One is Usually Less Busy" (notice how i did not write "IDOL-04" I find that annoying. People need the phone numbers. This sticky just supplys IDOL-04) OR "VOTING IS COMPLETELY FREE" etc etc. There will likely be nearly 800,000 people on the boards Tuesday night at any given time, meaning proabably 2 million unique visitors during the night. Divided that by three and that's 700,000 (three contestants) and then split in half assuming 50 percent of the people stay on general boards and we will have 350.000 potential voters that need your guidance Tuesday night. It's your job to lead the confused, and your job to send inspiring messages getting people to vote harder. Remember, there are many out there that want us out of the competition. And we will use that to our motivation. Any international fans, please let us know if you can be involved in this process. We won't be able to do it without you. Kat won't be able to do it without you.

Thanks Rhine, this is a really fantastic idea. In fact anyone using an autodialer that DOES NOT have Cingular can help out in this way. Of course if yoo can get Cingular in your area, it still isn't too late to run out to your local Walmart to pick up a GoPhone!!!

I am going McPhoting this week . I'll try to put in as much votes as possible. She deserves this more than anybody else. (I've never had so much interest to any Idol contestants since season 1 .. until I saw Kat... she's just amazing!)

^ ap0c4lyps3 - This question arises often, and my careful study of the AI rules at http://www.americanidol.com/faqs/ has convinced me, although they don't specifically say votes outside the US are counted, there is an extremely high likelihood all international votes will count. If you hear Kat's recorded "thank you message", your vote counted! And the good news is that you will NOT be charged for the busy tones (we all hope everyone gets a "busy" most of the time), whether calling from inside or outside the US.

Hi Rhine, I am excited to be part of the international fan support for Kat. I actually get my 2 college kids in Chicago to vote each week even tho' they really dont have time to watch AI. Problem is they are never quite sure when voting begins in Chicago. Sometimes they get soem votes in or they dont depending on the tiem the dial in. Please advise wheat is the 2 hr voting tiem in Chicago. I was supporting Carrie last year and want so much for Kat to take the title this year. Many thanks for all that you are doing for us fans. ^ Janne - First, the voting window starting this Tuesday is now 3 HOURS, from 9-12PM NY time (which I think is 8-11PM Chicago time). YOU can vote too! In fact, anyone anywhere outside the US can vote for Kat! Here's how: First, it's always best to call your international operator in advance and review the exact string of numbers to make any particular call. In general, you call exactly the same way you call any other US number, by dialing your country's international access number followed by the US country number (always "1") then 866-436-570X where "X" is the number for Kat, which this web site always posts immediately after the live broadcast ends at 9PM NY time. This next Tuesday the voting hours will be 3 hrs, from 9-12PM, NY time. You can check your local time vs NY time at: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/. When the line is busy (most of the time we all hope) there is no charge. When your call is answered & you hear the 1st words of Kat's recorded voice, you know your vote was counted! Keep redialing over & over! Spread this important news --that anyone anywhere can vote-- to every McPhan you know, anywhere in the world!

You can check to your provider for the calling rates to USA. But I don't think it's going to be expensive .. We might be able to use the program skype to call for free. I'm acting as Ken (from IDF)'s messenger again LOL Here are the headlines that we need always on the top of the page on the official American Idol kat boards during voting hours. The voting period in the US will last SIX hours, so we need international fans to be constantly on this. this is very important. When I estimated 1.6 million users would be online, I neglected to realize that most of the forums traffic are unregistered users, meaning probably three or four times that will be on the boards. You are advertising to these people and gettng much needed information out. Below are four subject lines which I ask you cut and copy and keep on the top of the boards.
