Kat's Comment to me:

"Lauren,
don't worry about your gift and not getting on time. That is sooo sweet but you didn't have to do that. I really appreciate it. I read your comment and it really touched me. I'm happy you enjoyed your first season of Idol. I mostly thank you for all your support. It means more than anything. I just love that people are enjoying the music. Keep in touch and thanks again. Cute page too!

I suggest you use Adobe Photoshop. The software is great for any graphic applications.

Very nice balance to the images there. And you did a good job of picking a particular colour scheme that works right. That's one of those deceptively simple blends that are harder to make than people think. Effective blending is truly an art form on its own. And you wisely used a real background rather than those textured backgrounds...which is what I like to do myself.

I'd recommend using Paint Shop Pro as a cheaper alternative to Adobe Photoshop. AP is extremely expensive (though you can d/l free trials for 30 days)--and PSP does more than 90% of what Photoshop does. With some of the newer versions of PSP (I use Version X...and there's an XI out now), it adds even more features to make it a near-equivalent to Photoshop now. I suppose there's a few minor things on Photoshop that can make you look a tad bit more professional. But that's for true professionals who are working in the graphic arts for a living. For blends and recreational use, there's no use spending several hundred dollars on a graphic program.

If you've used anything prior to PSP X--you might get confused. I started out using Version X that was the version started by Corel who bought out the former JASC. They redesigned the menus from the prior versions everybody used to love. If you're a newcomer to PSP, though, there's nothing to worry about. It's extremely easy to learn too. I learned it in about a week. Though it might depend on your ability to learn intuitively with most software.

It's fun to see everybody's own graphic style here, so thanks for posting. I think I've honed my own visual style--but I'm not sure how it translated after I posted some blends here recently. I usually go against the usual blending trends.
