I do think Ivy was remorseful for sleeping with Dev. But she didn't know what to do about it. So she held it in until she was "slighted" by Karen and then took it out on her. Because she hasn't had any role models for being caring, has she?

I'm not sure if Season Two Spoilers is exactly right...not much detail, anyway. http://screencrush.com/smash-season-2-spoilers/ Yeah, Ivy couldn't have picked up any notions about how to behave in her 30 years... I dunno... I couldn't figure out her mother. If she was supposed to be a role model, heaven help us all. |

This was obviously written by a rabid Hilty fan but still... I may watch (A Capitol Fourth, Wed. on PBS). Her fans may irritate me but I still enjoy Megan. I didn't feel like making a thread for this and it is vaguely Smash related.

So this is more of a Smash vacation recap even though it was the same trip to NYC as the Bryant Park event.

I'm pretty sure I posted these links before, but in case you are interested.
We decided we couldn't really afford the Smash restaurants this trip, even though we went to Butter previously. But we added Cafe Orlin to our gps. And it turned out to be within a block on the same street as some of the other places we were going. So we walked by it. We weren't hungry so we just looked at it and said, yup; that's it. Then we continued walking up the next street and walked right past the Cloister Cafe where Dennis and Tom go for lunch. It wasn't open so we didn't get a peek in there. Also the Bryant Park Hotel is right acroos the street from where Kat was doing the Tide event. That's the place that Rebecca Duvall had the special sscreening of her movie. We did not go in there either. But it was really fun to be where all my new Smash friends live.  Oh and we were very near Lexington Ave the whole trip so we kept singing "Lexington and 52nd St." But the final straw, as it were, was when we saw a guy with his headphones on walking down the street smiling and singing out loud! Both my wife and I had Karen's and Ivy's similar scenes from Let Me Be Your Star pop into our heads. I actally said, "I've gotta stop watching Smash." I was kidding, of course. I don't remember liking another show so much.

Some articles talk like JHud is a regular and some list her as a limited episode story arc. Anybody know the truth? I'm leaning towards limited episodes.
OK, just watched the video that I'm about to post in the Bryant Park thread and Kat says 3 or 4 episodes. That's why I believe that!  |

Not sure if there's much nwe here, but she does say it looks like more music in season two, as in 4 songs in episode one. Wonder what kind they will be? They're talking about a new rival musical, new composers, and with 3 new cast members, all of whom sing, I believe--lots to speculate about. And now there are two Addams Family alumnae on the show.

Megan throws a cast party. Here's the pertinent part of the post, which is kind of long.
"Megan Hilty knows how to throw a party. A source tells us the pint-size actress hosted the “Smash” season 2 kickoff dinner at Bagatelle restaurant Tuesday. While Hilty’s co-stars Jack Davenport and Katharine McPhee, who attended with boyfriend Brian Gallagher, enjoyed French cuisine and Champagne, future guest star Jennifer Hudson was nowhere in sight. An insider says that despite receiving a personal invite from the blond bombshell, Hudson was sadly a “no show.” Without her, Hilty and company decided to “saber” some bottles of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte into the streets of the Meatpacking District. For those not in the know, sabering is a technique of forcing a knife blade along the body of a bottle until it breaks the glass, separating the collar from the neck of the bottle. Needless to say, the swordplay was a big hit with the restaurant’s other patrons."
I think they meant to say Megan's boyfriend Brian Gallagher, not Katharine's. Unless there's something big I don't know.

This is interesting (my word of the day apparently). It looks like Smash is scheduled for only 13 episodes this season. Does anyone have any other info on that?
But only six cast members have 28 ep listed when I've seen twitter pix of Bobby & Jessica in Season 2.

I'm reminded of one scene where Karen and Ivy were having a drink together somewhere, fencing a bit, and Ivy calls Karen a usurper and Karen counters with "I've got one word for you--unstable." That was kind of fun and a little different, Karen actually daring to stand up for herself and get mildly nasty. And Ivy's comeback was fun too (something like "Who isn't in this town?" or "in this business" or something.) I could take a bit more of that--kind of a wary association that's not quite a friendly rivalry. |

Do you think Jeremy Jordan will be the new DiMaggio? Or will he be in the other musical? I'm hoping that Karen will hook up with the sensitive writer and leave the guy with the troubled past to Ivy.
I'm thinking that "the other musical" will start farther along than Bombshell, as in already written, but just now casting the workshop.
But my biggest wish is that Kat and Megan get to sing at least as much as Season 1. |
