It's "only" words on a computer screen, but I can't tell you guys how big of a rush you get when you know Kat typed out your name and acknowledged you in some way.
Those of you who are interested should absolutely start thinking of a good question to ask Kat in anticipation of round 2. It is SOOOOOOO worth it.
I've had this stupid grin on my face ever since I read her response. Okay, so that's not new, I often have a stupid grin on my face... but Kat made it way more "stupider".  |

What else can I say that hasn't already been said. Kat, you are an inspiration to your fans. Your hard work and dedication has meant a lot to us, your fans. You were very candid with your answers and that speaks volumes to the quality of your character. Get well soon and I hope to see you later this month in Richmond.

Gah!!!! I have this big stupid Grin o my face right now! She is just too sweet for words! You can tell she answered those questions with sincerity and actually took the time to answer them! I didn't think I could like her anymore and yet she proves me wrong everytime she responds to her fans in some way or another! Kat, seriously thank you for taking the time out to answer those questions, you truly are a wonderful person, rolemodel, amazing talent and also beautiful! Thank you so much! |

Laurie, we can sure try to top the laughs in Live Chat yesterday. That was really hilarious, all our speculation. So today the topic will be RUNNING, and Kat's ability to inspire this frantic running. Who knew that sheer joy would make me want to run? |

A big thank you to everyone who helped put this together. Especially Kat for taking the time to answer our questions! Kat, I'm really sorry you're not feeling well and I'm sure you're as disappointed as your fans for missing the shows. But at least something positive came out of it! After reading your responses it makes me wish I'd taken the time to come up with a more thoughtful and meaningful question! The only other question I could come up with was "Will you marry me?". Not only is that another question you're probably sick of hearing, I think I know the answer and I couldn't take the rejection!   I think it's great that you've done some song writing and I really hope you get to contribute to the writing on your album. There's definitely more meaning and more feeling in songs when you're able to be part of that creative process and I hope the producers you work with understand that. Get well soon! You've got some busy days ahead and I can't wait to see what they have in store for you. Love ya! Phan 4 Life!!! ;) Matt |

I just want to say to all my fellow McPheever victims:
Enjoy this time. It may not be long that we'll be able to enjoy having this kind of interaction with Kat. I'm continually amazed that she takes the time out to respond to us the way she has. I don't know of any other star who does this! However, the time may soon come that she's simply too big of a celebrity. She could end up being far too busy or having far too many fans with which to respond. I can see that Kat will always care enough to want to try and hopefully will be able to continue doing so for the rest of her career. But just in case, cherish these moments! We don't know how long they are going to last.
Oh, and Kat... I saw your OK magazine layout and if I may say... You get more and more beautiful every time I see you! If this continues I'll never be able to find a woman who'll measure up. ;) |

Wow…Kat confirmed, again, that she is as wonderful as we all believe her to be.
I was impressed with how well Kat responded to the questions with her unique combination of humor, mature insight, sincere compassion and honesty. It is difficult, at any age, to be as well-grounded and self-aware as Kat appears to be, especially while in the midst of all the celebrity fanfare that she is (and will continue to be) exposed to.
It pains me to think of Kat reading any of the sewage that has been created by a small faction of twisted minds, but, such is life in a world shamed by conspirators of every persuasion. I can only hope that in those quiet moments when Kat starts to feel herself slipping towards the ‘Dark Side’ and beginning to reflect on the negative opinions, that she stops herself and chooses instead to allow all the positive energy - from the love of her millions of fans - to elevate her spirits and remind her how precious and special she is to all of us. Kat, we love you for who, and what, you are – and we will stand by you and accept your right to make the choices you will make in your life. You will make mistakes from time to time – that’s O.K. with us too – because it is an inextricable part of being human and confirms that you are like the rest of us who make mistakes all the time…so don’t worry about it.
Chad…thanks for arranging to have Kat answer these questions….although I was concerned that my question was one of the convoluted ones you referred to in one of your posts…(I forget the actual word you used to describe such questions - it sounded like a disgruntled bowel movement! ) but in any case, Kat provided excellent responses and I appreciate it.
In terms of the question I asked, I was flattered that it was included and that Kat responded….As well, everyone please note the three ‘Xxx’s at the end of the response…I have officially been ‘electronically kissed’ by Kat (perhaps not as fortunate an encounter as Kevin Covais was able to achieve in person on AI…but I will take my victories as they come)!
Anyway….Kat identified three ‘pillars of strength’ that she will rely on as she continues on her career path – close family and friends; God; and several trusted advisors – that’s a great start. Her reference to ‘remembering where she came from’ is encouraging to hear since I believe it will add humility, balance and perspective to her professional and personal development. I was also impressed to see a clear indication of her professional integrity and genuine love for her craft when she mentioned that, if she had to, she would ‘return to performing for $20 a show’, and that the ‘gift is in the giving’.
Even as I write this, I am wondering what it is about Kat that is so captivating…and why I share the feeling with so many others around the world who admit that they have never previously been compelled to take such a similar interest in another performer. It reminds me of the compulsion that the characters in the movie ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ experienced….they really didn’t understand why they were so driven to do what they did…but they couldn’t help it…and in the end, the effort was well worth it (but if I resort to trying to make a sculpture of Kat out of mashed potatoes, I’ll know I’m in trouble!).
Kat’s stunning beauty and wonderful talent was certainly enough to attract my attention initially, but that alone was/is not enough to sustain my interest to this extent. For me, I think there is a depth of vulnerability and sincerity within Kat that I find attractive, interesting and commendable. I like that she has the confidence and inclination to be silly, and I like some of the other attributes she conveyed in her responses to some of the other questions…her concern for her fans; her desire to do humanitarian work; her ‘down to earth’ attitude and approachability. I also have a tremendous amount of respect for Kat as a person given the courage she demonstrated while dealing with some of the extra challenges during the AI competition.
Kat, thanks for taking the time to respond to our questions. Take care of yourself…I hope you recover from the laryngitis soon…keep in touch with this site as often as your schedule will allow. We will never get tired of hearing from you!

Thanks so much Kat for the wonderfully witty, insightful, inspiring,
and in depth answers to the questions. It was great of you to respond
and also to really take the time to write such meaningful answers. I'm
sure you were happy to see some thought provoking questions for a
change instead of the usual stupid questions that you get asked over
and over again by reporters in the industry!

Hello everybody, i think this is my 1st post here? I freaked out when i realised Kat answered a fan's question from Malaysia. HAHAHA... the 1st question what more! Anyway, yeay yeay yeay! Katharine rocks. She should know I'm older than her too. But she's much taller than I am. It's 5:13am ... probably why I'm not making sense but the point is, this definitely brightened the rest of the night for me... i liked the answers for what they were ... raw, tinged with humour and definitely kat-sounding... Thanks for this Hope Katharine gets better soon ... i wonder if she reads the 6th page of these threads... |

The ultimate Katharine interview has been spoken (or written). Everybody soak it in...because you'll never see one like it from the mainstream media for the rest of Kat's career.  Most of you already know I've been away for a while--but just wanted to put down on record (and to let Kat know) that I found her answers to the questions to be the product of someone who truly cares about her own destiny as a celebrity and humanitarian. I've never seen many celebrities take questions at such a serious level like this--so thanks, Kat, for taking the time to do this while recuperating from illness. It probably feels good to be able to be express your thoughts so lucidly without using your voice. I know the frustration of that in the past...so all bow down to the inventor(s) of the internet...and computer keyboards.  Some thoughts on the answers: I had no idea Kat did some songwriting before. There's been some speculation that she has--but I assumed she must have dabbled in it a little while studying at Boston Cons. Of course, I don't know if that's lyrics or lyrics WITH music. Lyric-writing is much tougher (arguably) than writing music, so I'd think that's the area she's referring to. Congrats to Mutt (Steve) for being behind a dramatic Q&A pause there. From the looks of things, there was more anticipation on that last question than there's ever been for Christmas morning to arrive earlier. Since the media HAS been lurking in here...maybe they'll get the hint now about questions that are more interesting. I think there should be an 'AI' contract clause to break a nose if that Scientology question comes up again. Oh, and that chocolate house with the animals sounds like a good idea for a children's book.  Then again, reality is sometimes more realistic than fiction. All this is proof of Kat's outstanding communication ability that reveals itself day by day. She's going to truly be a star who connects to the people out there and not just people in her inner circle. One question to Chad: I assume the other questions will be answered at a later time? Since mine's a musical question, having some q's answered about her music would be interesting later. Those first philosophical questions, though, were all brilliant. Last but not least: Laurie....you know my sentiments in the chat room earlier. You deserve that shoutout more than anyone. |

i've was down with the flu this past week, i couldn't even go to my desktop to surf the internet. so i've been really, really missing kat. i was so excited this morning to go to this site, and you can just imagine how happy i was to read this thread. i'm sooooo well now, and jumping for joy!!! this is the best medicine ever! thank you, KAT, for taking the time out to make your fans happy. this is a blessed day, and you are truly Godsent. |

Oh my God, I'm so glad I found this amazing website! Kat's answers were just great, and made me even more proud of being a McPhan! Here in Brazil it's hard to know what's going on with Kat, because AI airs on a cable channel, and not a lot of people have access to it. Thank God the Internet exists with great site fans like this one.
I don't know if Kat is ever gonna read this, but anyway... I just wanted to say how much I love her, and everytime I hear her singing a smile appears on my face, because it's so beautiful... Truly wonderful and touching voice... I'm so sad I won't be able to go to the AI tour 'cause it would be too expensive.. But I'll definitely be on her single tour when it comes, no matter what I have to do to go... I couldn't miss it! And of course I already bought her single, but it's not here yet, 'cause it takes some time for amazon.com to send to Brazil... =(
Well, to finish... Kat, as everybory already said, it's impossible to get sick of you! You certainly don't have to worry about that... and try to ignore those stupid people who doesn't know what they're talking about... just remember that millions of people absolutely love you around the world, and that's a reason why they do! Everyone has been extremely tolerant, supportive, and even ENCOURAGING of my antics. So thank you to everyone for that
I know that all the people here have The McPheever and therefore fully understand my initial and continued reaction. I also know that it's fun for me to read everyone else's posts, so I want to contribute as much as I can to keep Chad's site as active as possible.
Those of you who only silently read the threads and never post should try it out sometime. You don't even have to write a lot, and Kat may be reading. Show your support, because she really does appreciate it. |
