What a great load of materials, I'm, just finishing off some development, I'll get to all this later. Well done! Agree on Lauries opus, especially as it is going to have a ton of pics.

I almost passed up the chance to see Katharine McPhee live.

Sounds like an incredible statement, I know. Yet when the American Idol tour tickets went on sale, I hesitated. I asked myself, do I wait until Kat does her own tour or should I really spend all this money just so I can see her sing a few songs without having to wait?

Impatience won out – and in this case, impatience was a virtue.

As so many people have stated here, Kat comes across wonderfully on screen, but in person, her magic is all the more potent, even from the nosebleed section of the Schottenstein Center (AKA Value City Arena, to appease the sponsors) in Columbus on Friday August 11.

What was most remarkable to me was how affecting she was, even with her voice and foot still on the mend.

With the most exuberant 2-3-4 this side of “I Saw Her Standing There,” we saw Kat standing there atop the stairs, resplendent in that sleek black dress that just won’t quit. She seemed to be conserving her voice in that she didn’t put as much “oomph” into BHCT as she has on other tour stops, with the exception of the “all these years” line, which was pretty forceful. For most of the perf, though, she stayed in a higher, lighter register.

Even so, she was a joy to watch as she twirled around onstage, looking for all the world like that’s where she most loved being. She flashed that brightest of all smiles, picked up and waved a bouquet of flowers that were tossed on stage (no fun letting the security goons get em first!) and weaved and laughed among the box drummers, as is her wont.

She engaged in her usual patter about her voice and foot, but for this show said, “I’m so happy to finally be in Ohio! I missed a city when the tour came through earlier …where was it? Ummm …”

At this point, Kat used a lifeline and “asked the audience” and we all chimed in “Cleveland!” After repeating how happy she was to be here, she went into OTR. Again, she seemed to conserving herself, as some of the big moments didn’t have quite as much volume as usual.

Nevertheless, when she leapt into the “If happy little bluebirds fly, beyond the rainbow” climax, and paused to ecstatic cheers from the audience, the power of her voice made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Only two other people have accomplished that for me: Susan Egan and Judy Garland, so Kat is in very rare company indeed.

With the crowd sufficiently wowed, she chirped, “Enjoy the rest of the show,” exiting through the center stage door.

She returned for the “Living in America” encore, and here is where she impressed me the most. Wearing casual slacks and a light-colored top, she cut several rugs in her dancing!

A concertgoer who posted on IDF said that Kat seemed to be limping noticeably. Perhaps it was harder for me to tell since my vantage point was so high, but from where I sat, at worst, she was maybe just a little ginger with her foot. Honestly, if I had not already known about the broken foot, I would never have been able to tell. She has gotten quite limber with it!

I was most delighted when she did this jazzy little shuffle, shifting her feet in and out, sliding across the stage, without lifting her feet! VERY James Brown, who performed the tune originally!

Kat gamely bopped from one side of the stage to the other, often reaching down to shake hands with ecstatic and exceedingly lucky fans. Yet even though I was in the lowermost part of the uppermost section, I was touched too.

I was so transported that it did not fully hit me that I had seem Katharine live until I got home and started talking in the chatroom. Indeed, I feel so grateful for the experience, some thanks are in order.

Thanks to all the members of KMF, who welcomed me into the community and made it so much fun to share in the joy that Kat radiates. Thanks especially to Irishkmp, for greeting me in person at the show. It was nice not to fly completely solo.

Finally, thanks to Kat, for being such a stellar person and performer, and for giving my life a night, and a whole year that I shall never forget.

Before I sign off, that reminds me -- as Kat turned to leave, I cheered loudly, waving my orange KMF glowstick like a hyperactive Statue of Liberty. Kat saw me and gave me a wave!

Well, OK, it was probably a wave in my general direction, but that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!

MILWAUKEE, KMF CHATROOM

California Kat Phan: Ok...so I am on vacation, and I knew that the idols were on tour here, and I was hoping to "run into them" lol...but today, I asked my relatives "how far is Milawake from here" and they say "45 minutes" then I explain the whole idol story to them, and how i'm such a big fan...and they didn't want to pay a lot of money for tickets, and I was ready to spend a million dollars. Then no one would go with me

California Kat Phan: then at the last minute i met my "4th cousins" and they've never watched AI before...and I convinced them to go with me, and I converted them to be kat fans...lol

California Kat Phan: ok should I start with Kat...and then tell you how i got my tickets...the ticket story is crazy

California Kat Phan: ok so, we don't park the care at the arena untill 6:15pm...and we didn't even havce tickets...so we ask the parking lady where to go for tickets, and she says go to "game time" so we walk in, and it's a bar, and we're like "wtf" and we ask the lady where to go, and she's like, go ask the bartender..now I'm really like "wtf"...so then we ask the barteneder where to get tickets and she points us where to go...so there's a man working at a counter selling tickets, no one inline. And i go "hey, I"m a die hard kat fan, and I"m here from CA, we want the closest seats to the stage" and he goes "ok, I"ve got 12th row, 50 bucks each" and I jump up and down, and tell the man that i love him, and buy the tickets!!! So we got 12th row, floor, center seats...not to mention, we get to the venue and we have the whole 12th row to ourselves...so we had plenty of room to move and get pics

California Kat Phan: long story short, I got to talking to the people behind us, and they paid 750 dollars for 4 tickets!!!! and they were behind us...and we paid 150 bucks for 3 tickets...so everyone was like "damn, you're so lucky!"

California Kat Phan: yep, you heard me...50 bucks, 12th row, floor center...I'm still in shock, so I"m literally about to die...and I"m with 2 of my cousins who have never watched AI!!!

California Kat Phan: so I quickly tried to tell them everything about Kat...lol

California Kat Phan: so then I got them all excited

California Kat Phan: I took notes on my tickets just so i won't miss any details, so lame lol

California Kat Phan: i totaly could see everything going on, on the stage, and I saw the guys come out to sit on the little block to play the drum things for BHCT...and I start screaming like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

California Kat Phan: so then kat comes out, at the top of the stage, and I die! and I started videoing when it was dark, so i got the whole "2,3, 4" part...yay!!!!!

California Kat Phan: and she freaken rocked at that song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

California Kat Phan: i started videoing when it was dark, so i got the whole "234" part...lol, and I was going crazy

California Kat Phan: and then boom my camera says "out of memory" and I literally got sweatly palms and though i was going to die

California Kat Phan: so i frantacly try to delete other pics...meanwhile, I miss kat....then i free up space, and video again, then i run out of memory again, now I am about to cry...this was all in SOTR...I have all of BHCT on video, from start to finish

California Kat Phan: then i free up memory, and kat is gone!!!!!!! it felt like she had no stage time! seriously, she was on and then off!

California Kat Phan: i even bought a big memory card just for this, i had all previous idol performances on video too, i had a 1gb char!!!!!!!!!!!!

California Kat Phan: ok so kat gave a short speech, and i was really sad

California Kat Phan: she wore the black dress, i think i told you that, and for living in america she wore that white top with the belt and jeans

California Kat Phan: she did a little shimmy in BHCT..not as much as I expected, so then she sings, and boom she is gone!!!

California Kat Phan: I was like "oh kat, I've seen you in that before lol"

California Kat Phan: ok so, I was dancing and singing, that I was sweating...then when kat came on I was waving like an idiot, and I was the only kat fan there, seriously....so then it gets quiet and i go "we love you Kat" and I"m waving obnoxiously, and you can't miss me, and then she waves, right to me...I have it on video!!!

California Kat Phan: so in LIA...she wasn't even that into it...I was like "omg" no flirting with taylor at all!!!!! no slapping ace's butt, no hitting chris on hip

California Kat Phan: she wasn't dancing like I've seen her dance before...but it was fine because I still like it

California Kat Phan: she just kinda went through the motions..

California Kat Phan: don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it

California Kat Phan: but being a kat fan...I could tell it was different, she totaly didn't get down

California Kat Phan: but vocally....she was absolutely amazing

California Kat Phan: so, taylor was wearing really weird shoes, and his hair was not done in the front, and that irritates me, lol

California Kat Phan: and when he makes his big entrance, he walked by me and I was like "whatever", he didn't even introduce her, only at the very end he points to her head and says "katharine Mcphee"

California Kat Phan: so then she leaves and i was all sad

California Kat Phan: ok but do you want to know about the busses!!!!!!

California Kat Phan: her and kellie didn't even do anything together

California Kat Phan: after the concert, more people are there,....and i, of course, get to the front, and bucky comes out first, and I was like "uh" then came chris and I was like "ok"...then came Kellie and I was like "yay" then came paris and i was like "cool", and then I see kat and i scream "katharine" and she keeps walking...and no one else is screaming

California Kat Phan: so no one is screaming, not really for anyone....and I'm screaming like crazy

California Kat Phan: so then, kat comes out closer, and I go crazy, literally, the people infront of me, hated me...and I yell "katharine!!!!!" and then she looks, and no one else is screaming so I yell again "katharine! Wooo! I'm the only one screaming for you, I'm the only kat fan screaming" and she kinds looked at me like "ha"

California Kat Phan: serioulsy, I was the only one screaming!!!

California Kat Phan: I was on the phone to gecko, the whole time...and she's like "oh my god, I would scream with you"

California Kat Phan: kat kinds looked over like, whoa look at that girl, it was sooo funny

California Kat Phan: so then...I couldn't see her...and I'm yelling "i can't see her"

California Kat Phan: then I see her, standing behind a light pole!

California Kat Phan: and I scream "kat's behind a light pole"

California Kat Phan: then I scream "kat's not looking over here" and this girl goes "i wonder why"...I seriously wanted to punch her...and geck was on the phone with me, and she was like "who cares, they are just not die hards, you'll never see them again"

California Kat Phan: so then no one was screaming...and I'm still yelling "katharine...wooo"

California Kat Phan: then I see her pop out behind the light pole, and she is talking to a guy! and she talks to him forever!

California Kat Phan: and I'm like "kat, you can talk to him all day, but I"m only here for another 30 minutes, get over here"

California Kat Phan: so then, I see him from behind and he kind of looked like nick...and then kat is moving her hands all cute, then her right leg was crossed infront of her left, and the left was bent...then she puts her left arm folded across her stomach, then moves her hands all funny...and I'm trying to figure out who the heck the guy was

California Kat Phan: yes I was squeaking ...I have no voice left...so when I was talking to geck, I was like "i promise I normally don't have this voice" lol

California Kat Phan: so then, I'm trying to figure out who the guy was...he was hot too...his hair was receding so I"m thinking it might be nick

California Kat Phan: so then the guy has kind of tight jeans on, and I'm like "oh you're cute" but I'm here to meet kat...lol

California Kat Phan: and he had a light orange shirt on!

California Kat Phan: I'm 15 feet from kat... right infront of the busses

California Kat Phan: so then I realize that this guy was really white, and that nick was tanner than him

California Kat Phan: so I came to the conclusion that it wasn't nick

California Kat Phan: then kat puts her hands in her pocket, california style...yes there is a unique way to do this

California Kat Phan: I don't know (who that guy was), but he was cute, and she was really into him...I mean "she's always into people"

California Kat Phan: so then she starts doing funny things with her hands, and I'm laughing and no one else was!

California Kat Phan: so then kat makes all this funny hand moves, and I'm dieing laughing and people are like "wtf is this girl laughing at"

California Kat Phan: then I scream "kat" and she looks...and then she walks 10 feet in the opposite direction and goes to a gate where people are, and I felt so "dissed"

California Kat Phan: then paris and kellie play football, kellie was in pink pants and a black spaghetti strap shirt

California Kat Phan: kellie totaly catches like a girl! and paris can throw!

California Kat Phan: so then...kat is running on the boot, and I scream "she's running, Kat is running!"

California Kat Phan: and then, kat get's in the bus and as she gets in i scream "kat getting on the bus" and no one else screams

California Kat Phan: I was totaly narrating

California Kat Phan: I thought there would be other people who would want to know what kat was doing, but apparantly no one was

California Kat Phan: and then when she gets on the bus i scream "aww, Kat's on the bus, they're leaving, they're leaving" and my cousin was like "no shit" lol

California Kat Phan: there must have been no after party because I saw them coming to the bus, right when i got outside!

California Kat Phan: so I'm trying to get the pics on my computer, and the battery is dead so it won't do it...I will bye batteries tommorrow, so i can upload the videos and pics

California Kat Phan: oh, did i tell you that it got quiet and i screamed we love you kat, and was waving like a maniac, and she waved back! Her wave was to me, because no one else was waving...so we have non verbal communication

California Kat Phan: well I was the first to sign kats! And I wrote "hi Kat, the kat pack loves you. Go kat go! Laurie, co, V, Britt and the gang say hi" something like that...and I signed it "love the katpackers" and then i got down the escalator and went back up because I forgot to write www.katharinefans.com, so then i went and wrote the website down, and

circled it!!!

California Kat Phan: and on the plane ride over here, I converted the old man sitting next to me, to be a kat fan, lol, i had her music on my laptop, and was listening to it, and my headphones were too loud, on purpose lol

California Kat Phan: then he tells me he has an 11 year old daugher, so then i think "this is my opportunity" and I say "so you must watch American Idol" and he goes "oh yeah a little bit" and then I say "well, let me introduce you to katharine mcpheee"

California Kat Phan: oh ace said that tonight was the first concert his parents could attend, and when ace sang, he did this thing with his chest, timed to the base, and my heart jumped up, I think it was because we were so close and the base was intense

California Kat Phan: and we were practically on the stage, so I was dancing and singing, and videoing, and it was so hot in there...it's like the lights were on us too

California Kat Phan: and when she was singing I was waving to her, as if you would wave to a family member arriving at an airport like "I'm over here, come here, it's so good to see you"....and then after 2 minutes of that, i yelled we love you kat, and i finally got a wave

NASHVILLE, TN

McElphaba (we should put this on the laurie page).

Woo, so I may as well add my side of the story now....

Haha-1st of all-the hampers. I put them together in the back seat of the car on the way to Nashville, because we had to stop by first thing that morning and get a second one since we'd officially outgrown the first one. So, anyway, they were both filled to the brim when I first put them together, but then when L and I went to retreive them a few hours later, all the stuff had like bloated down to the bottom...hahaha So they were more rounded than rectangular at that point...Haha But no worries.

So, as L said, we saw the "AUNTY EM, AUNTY EM" looking sky and headed out quickly. It seemed like the line would never move, and the wind was really picking up. You have NO idea how close we came to death with that tent. It seriously caught the overhang by a couple of inches, or else we woulda been toast. When it started to sprinkle, we just pushed through up closer to the front and got about 5 feet from the door. Luckilly, people thought it was cute that we were bringing things for all the girls, and they didn't seem to mind that we broke in line. So, finally we had literally JUST pushed through the door when it starts to pour. whew. Then I sit the duck down in water. Ugh. I see it quickly, and wipe it before it does damage. Now comes the guard. When we get to the front, I plop the duck on the table, explain our plight, and tell him "It's mesh so that you can see everything in it". He spots the candy and DVDs and goes "No, we'll have to keep those here." and when he sees the look of horror on my face he goes "I'm kidding, go ahead through.". Then, we get to the ticket turnstiles, and I get the same thing in the form of "You're gonna have a hard time with those. Please step over here." I thought they were gonna search them, but actually he was just being sweet and letting me bypass the turnstile with the heavy hampers. So, we were officially in. Of course, we walked the opposite direction to our seats, and thus ended up carrying the hampers plum around the arena. But they made it.

The show-of course-was McPhabulous. Much better crowd than B'Ham. They really enjoyed Kat. Person with the multiple orange glowsticks on, whose username escapes me at the moment-we totally saw you right away...LOL Good job representing!

So, on to the after party. Ok, the differences in my account are as follows:

When we first saw Kat, and she goes "Hey!" it totally threw us off. Our script had not included a cue line from Kat, so we just tossed it out the window...Haha So, I plopped down the duck, I think, and go "We come bearing gifts. Do NOT try to move these yourself." haha Then L sat down the elephant. As was stated, we were both overtalking, so Kat was just all big eyed and excited and was paying more attention to the baskets themselves than what we were saying, and it was soooo cute when she looks at us and squeals "Is it alll for meeeeee?" Hahaha And L put up a stop hand and goes "No, it's for all 5 of the girls." and I added " for the girls tour bus". and she's all "Okay! and gives me a hug, and says "I'm so glad to see faces. I never get to put faces with names." Cue the fan book. Whilst L showed her the fan photo book, I pulled out the letters, which were stuck on my glowsticks and I almost knocked everything out of my bag. LOL so anyway, see above post for letter chat. After that, she's all "I have the GREATEST fans! I wish I had more time to spend with you guys." So then, I'm all "Will you sign my bag?" and she's all "SURE!" so I plop it in front of her. The side I had her sign was a double exposed SOTR collage I did, and she said twice how beautiful it was, and I had an embarrassing little chattering moment where I wondered if I should A) thank her for the compliment, or B) thank her for being photogenic, which I kind of discussed with myself outloud under my breath as she signed. I think she didn't hear cause she was still staring it down when she finished signing. BTW, my auto said "To Laura: You're the sweetest! Heart Katharine McPhee." Hahaha when she started to sign it, she goes "To? To? To?" Cause I don't think I'd introduced myself yet...haha And I finally blurted "OH, Laur-uh" hahaha I inunciated that last syllable so she'd get that Laurie and I had different names...hahaha Anyway, back to her, as she finished signing, and said something again about how neat the graphic was. She goes "This is YOUR bag", in that I'd designed it, and made it and all. And I said "Yeah, and I like the other side even better." And she goes "really, what's that?" So I flipped it, and it had my avatar, and she did the forearm grab again, as though she was telling me a secret, and goes "Actually-I already saw that, and I think it's REALLY cool." Hehehe she so totally lurks here. Anyway, L had her auto moments, and cd dropping moment, and then I came back with my sister's shirt from the BHam show, which she'd reserved the front just for Kat's auto. I told her that when she got off the bus in BHam, she'd evidentally waved or glanced in my sister's direction and she started crying cause she was so excited. And Kat said all giddilly, "I DID? OOOKAY!" LOL It was funny. So then the photo moment. The end of which, L and I got more Kat hugs. Mine was funny, cause as she went to hug L, she didn't move her arm from the photo pose, and I started to move away, and she turned quickly and hugged me...haha She's too cute.

We headed to Paris next, cause she was right there. And we told her about the baskets, so she'd know to look for them on the bus. And she goes "I heard about you guys (the Kat Pack) in Birmingham. A girl told me we'd be getting goodies! Hahaha It was sooo me. And how funny is it that she remembered. I wonder if they'd said anything about it to Kat.

I then proceeded to act as the Katarazzi, because I could not, in good faith, go see other people while Kat was still there in the same room. So, I did a sideways (don't ask) video, which is dark and kinda far away. Then I snapped some random shots of her with other people.

When Gustapo, the evil Kat handler, took her away, I decided to venture over to other people. First Tay Tay...uhm yeah.....The Ace, whom I just adore. He is the sweetest. (No wait, I'm the sweetest-according to Kat...hehe) But I had him sign a pic of he and my sis from Bham and I also delivered a fan letter from my pal who's a fan. And when I finished with him, he rubbed my forearm and goes "Thank you". Ugh. I could have melted (no pun intended). And I go "No, thank YOU." hahaha Then, Bucky, who was also just so cute and so sweet. I walked up, and he was with a couple of Buckaneers so I just kind of looked off and whistled so as not to interrupt. But he wanted to acknowledge that he saw me, so he goes "Hi. How are you?" Then, he finished with the other two, and I had him sign my sis's pic of she and him. Total sweetheart.

Can I give Kat some mad props for signing her full name! And legibly. Most of them sign initials, though the girls are all better at signing full names. I didn't meet "Pickles" as she was being restrained in the hallway. We did heckle her in an attempt to get her to come in, but to no avail. [Sad] So no McRoomie auto yet. But it was an amazing evening, and we accomplished all that we set out to, and it rocked!!!!

ST. LOUIS, MO (uploaded)

katmegafan from IDF Recap

I just got back from the show! It was great, everyone was great, and put on a great show and very entertaining. Chris was amazing! He put on a great show, and was pure electric. He said when he does his tour he will come to Stl. I will for sure buy tickets to see him. HE really brought the crowed alive after the intermisson. Elliot, he was sweating alot, wearing a stl cards jersey!! I wasnt really impressed with Elliot. Ace got a huge ovation from the girls for obvious reasons, when he took his shirt off, and whenever he like talked. Mandisa opened the show. Shes talented, but man her voice is VERY loud, I think it was the speakers though cause the music was VERY loud, hurt my ears! After that the voulme was lower for the rest of the show.

My main event the hottest babe in the world katharine came out towards the latter of the show and did Cherry Tree. She had a black dress on, looked amazing. Her voice sounded kinda horse a little, and she didnt want to push it, but was still AMAZING. She did look to have a little stage jitter. She talked about how as most of yous know Adrianna went to college here in St. Louis, and Kat talked about her first time traveling by herself was to visit her in college, the crowed erupted when she said that, but overall kat didnt not get a mega reaction compared to Chris, or Taylor, or Ace. it was funny when she started talking and the crowed went silent I yelled as loud as I could "hey kat you're really hot looking. She didnt make much of it lol, but the people around me just give a WTF look. I was around row 30 stage level, which was fairly close to the stage.

Taylor got a eruption! He made a grand enterance, thru the stands, he was like maybe just 20 feet away from me running, security was running very fast, had him surronded, fans went apes. I personally not a big fan of his cause I just dont like his voice at all, but Taylor is GREAT when it comes to dancing, and entertaining. Taylor is better when it comes to getting a crowed into it with his moves, while Kat is better with her voice.

the encore, Kat didnt come out at first, but she did living in america the best she could, she didnt limp that much IMO, but prob didnt want to push it. All and all it was a great show. My ears were hurting after it.

As for getting autographs, I did what others told me, I asked a couple poptarts people.   he said they had a couple meet and greets that were handed out to the radio stations for the contest and that the backstage passes, he didnt have any control over them, and only the family members, friends, and the idols have them, and that they are very strict about it.

The poptarts people in the red shirts are very nice. I might write kellogs a note about them cause they did a good job, and their people were very nice. I thought about asking the AI security people, who had their gated area, and lighting right by my area, but they looked really mean, and dont talk. After intermisson, they were walking around all over the place, and thru the isles, no one got kicked out though, I think they were getting ready so when taylor came thru the seats.

Btw as for busses, my venue I asked the arena guys and they told me the same thing as others said. They used the parking garage, and have a loading area, and that fans cant access it.

Anyways it was a great show. I wanted to get the idols autographs, dunno about kats, cause I really wouldnt be able to say much for obvious reasons if I got hers, or they'd kick me out maybe if they knew who I was, and I didnt want that to happen lol.

Btw bucky came dowm with that flu or whatever. When I was walking towards the doors I saw the infamous white paper, and almost freak that iw would say kat is not at the show, but thank god. I would have had massive heart attack.

Anyways I had alot of fun. I was kinda down in the dumps I couldnt meet the idols, even though my chances were slim I was still holding some hope but my venue wasnt user friendly for autos.

Anyways when Kat, and Chris do their own tours I will be first to buy TICKETS!!

Everyone, have fun at the shows. I know everyone bugs the Kellogs people for passes lol, but if they say no tell them thanks, great people!

I uploaded a song, inspired by Kat, for our 'The Phanatics' virtual band. If you can use it for a concert vid montage, or some such, just let me know. The wma file is 64k. I can let you have the full wav file if you want it. No offense taken if you can't use it,

Kat of course was AMAZING!she came out in a black dress, and walked around and sang black horse and cheery tree. You could hear everyone singing it with her (i sang as well she was very happy to be there. She then explained how she fractured her foot (she said she broke it) and that she was planning on singing 3 songs but since she hurt it she would still be singing two. She sang SOTW omgosh you guy I had goosebumps, I was in awe of her! I always knew she had amazing talent but hearing SOTW live is AMAZING beyond belief!

Okay I have to go I have a headache from screaming all night. I will do a full review tommorow though

h and another thing I wanted to say, in the group performances she did not seem to be happy, maybe I just didn't look at her the right times. who knows.

Here's her full recap... (the part that is about Kat)
Kat
Next was KATHARINE! I was SOOOOOO excited she did the 2,3,4, and came out in a black dress... she walked all over and waved to fans, and the cutest thing was how you could hear every one singing along with her espically at the NO, NO , NO, NO part LOVED IT! She then talked to us all and told us how she took her first visit her to see her sister because she went to college in St.Louis. Then she explained how she could only sing two songs, and how she was going to sing three before but she fractured her left foot (she showed us her cast and everyoen awwwwed) she had to sick with two. So at this point she is begining to sing SOTW I have goosebumps GLORE on all over. OH MY GOSH I never thought I would be that touched by a performance but this girl can SING her butt off honestly, It was my favorite performance of the night! She got into the song, and sang with her heart, my mom was on the phone with me at the time and she thought she sang amazingly as well.. it was too bad she could only sing 2 songs but seriously those two performances were enough to know that this girl is MAJORLY TALENTED! I can not wait for you all to hear her in concert. At one point the camera zoomed to her face and her eyes looked watery, I don't think she was crying but It sort of looked like she was going to. No doubt about it Katharine McPhee is going to be a huge star She got a really big appaulse as well, I know other people have stated in their reviews that she didnt but I have ears and she got one of the biggest ones. Her, Chris, Ace,Elliot andTaylor seemed to get the biggest.

I've redone the nashville audio from the mpg from youtube's mmmeverclear.  Two sets: mono, stereo.  For each set, 1) the full audio, 2) Interlude and OTR split and playable independently or in sequence without gaps.

phee, this set is upsampled to 44.1kHz so the streaming player should be ok with it.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI

Chuck from MjsBigBlog

Next up was the set that people are still getting familiar with, Kathsrine McPhee! She started off with Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. She was half-good: She was kind of weak and off-key with the “Woo-hoo” parts, but everything else was great. She mentioned that she was off the tour for three weeks due to being sick and being put on complete vocal rest, and that she’s still on limited vocal rest, so when she comes out she can actually sing and talk, so she likes this part of the night a lot. She then went on to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow like nobody’s business. Honestly, Judy Garland and Jane Monheit have NOTHING on McPhee’s version(s) of this song. NOTHING. That song was a crowd favorite, too. Everybody went nuts when she started to sing it.

Hi Minnie,

Your entry to Grand Rapids didn't quite work - my fault, but in the code for filenames with a space in them. The record was saved but the page to generate correctly, all fixed up now.

Looks like you tried to make the last quote italic by adding the i tags in square brackets or did that come from the source? That won't work, this is a full html screen much like filling out an email in rich text mode. There are tools above the text area for italic, bold, underline, color as well as creating links and inserting images. Similar to these entry screens only using proper html.

Anyway, its one of the rules of programming that nothing ever works properly the first few times. We are just ironing out the bugs, keep using it, it should be smooth now.

And can you remove the mp3 player from this thread please???

katfan101 at Katharinfans Recap

YES, it was a great show! It had moments of cheese, but I really did enjoy it. I couldn't get over how YOUNG everyone looked up close!I did meet a few Kat fans on my trip. I remember meeting a cute little girl walking with her parents wearing a Kat shirt. She couldn't have been more than 5 years old. I gave her one of my orange Kat glow sticks. She was THRILLED!

HOOOOOO! I know she saw me, and actually interacted with me from the stage. That was sweet. I was wearing
my orange shirt, holding my orange glow sticks HIGH! Katharine appeared outta no where after the words "Two, Three, Four" came out over the loud speaker! The "Black Horse" (and the cherry tree) came charging onto the stage. Katharine was beautiful and ON FIRE! She was smiling, and chatty . . . and like the other American Idols she worked the whole stage side to side. She showed and explained her foot injury. She was sporting her something that looked less like a cast, and more like a removeable black posterior splint with velcro straps about it, with some sort of black ortho shoe. She managed to get around the entire stage and ramps, keeping up and gimping with the other singers on the final two group songs. Yep. She made me proud.
I'm VERY much looking forward to seeing what Katharine does in the future. COUNT ON HER BEING THERE!

McDaughtry from Katharinefans.com Recap

Okay now Katharine! I knew exactly when she was going to come on stage so I grabbed Lindsey's hand and jumped up before anybody else, waiting impatiently for the "2, 3, 4." It finally came and there was Katharine, sitting right on top of the ramp looking as beautiful as ever. The crowd didn't go as wild for her as I had expected them to, but Lindsey and I made sure to give her all the "woos" and "ow ow owwwws" we could manage to scream without the Taylor fans in front of us giving us weird looks. She had that backless black dress on and she just seemed to float around the stage like a complete angel. After she had finished with BHATCT, she gave her speech and seemed genuinely touched by the reception that Grand Rapids gave her. Although I bet she says that to every arena. ;) She started singing SOTR and that seemed to be what the crowd was waiting for her to sing. The place went wild and there was never a silent moment during the song because everybody was too busy screaming their approval. You could tell her voice still wasn't 100% but that doesn't mean she didn't sound absolutely wonderful.

Skipping ahead to LIA, she did the funniest and most adorable moves up on the ramp when it was just her and Taylor! I actually think she gave Taylor a good run for his money. In one of my pictures of it, she actually looks like she's doing the robot?  But I must say that whenever I took my eyes off of Chris, they went directly to Katharine and she looked like she was having a great time with everybody. A funny thing I'd like to mention is that she went over to Chris and put her arm on his shoulder and I freaked out, trying desperately to zoom in on my camera, but with my luck she walked away before I could get the shot lol.

Thanks for taking care of my earlier GR recap. At my request this mp3 player was disabled days ago...don't know why it became audible again. I agree it was annoying.

Is the content section "not active" now as the button is missing. I attempted to upload two recaps tonight.

Fixed now, sorry, I have added permissions for various people to do various things. Like just yesterday I had someone come on to upload pictures and someone else to add a couple of videos but I didn't want them to have content ability too.

I just hadn't set your record up yet.

Try again.

Pastorel from katharinefans.com recap

MAN did she look gorgeous!

At first she had on a floor-length black evening dress.  She looked absolutely fantastic.  The shots of her on the big screen behind the stage were breathtaking. She started out with BHCT...it was so easy for her.  The mark of an outstanding singer.  The voice just comes out.

Then she sang "Rainbow"...that was also outstanding.  She didn't add the vocal fireworks she did on AI, or the single, but still, she didn't have to.  Besides, I think she was taking good care of her voice...which is the wise thing to do.  Doctors orders she said.

She was moving around really well. At first I thought that her ankle was all better, but I didn't think it could heal up that quickly, even with modern medical science.

Then she "gave us the boot"

Stunning beauty in a stunning evening dress...and a clunky ankle boot.  It was pretty funny.  Typical Kat.

I think it started bothering her toward the end of the show, because she wasn't limping at first, but she started limping a little toward the end of the show.

The audience was really polite...one of my biggest fears was somebody from another camp saying something rude during her set, but everything was good.

However, they were kind of rude during Elliott's set.  He sang this serious jazzy ballad.  I mean it was GOOD...and the people talking in the audience almost drowned him out.  Oh well, so much for serious jazz.

All in all, a good night.  I feel like I've completed a journey of sorts, between the beginning of AI and now.

My hearing is beginning to come back too.  Not from the volume of the music, but there wer about eight teenage Chris fans behind me screaming their heads off.  300 decibels I think.

Some success at last - I have developed a scheme whereby you can upload an mp3 from your computer to the correct directory on my server through a simple online form. Then you use another form to tell the system which video on which page the mp3 file belongs to then when the system generates the page it will insert a button for those videos with an mp3 file that when clicked will popup the mp3 player in its own little activex window. Problem is, it crashes the little window in IE, Its okay in Firefox, I haven't tried anything else. I'm not at all expert on activex, from my brief reading, this may just be a problem for me dure to registry errors. Can someone else - in fact all someone else's who read this, try it on their machines and report back the results?

http://www.katsconcerts.com/KC/Columbia.htm

The SOTR video has 2 buttons below it, both currently say "Full Screen Video". The one on the left will eventually say "Play Sounds Only", it is the one, click it. Let me know if it runs the mp3 player successfully or not and what your OS and browser are.

Maybe this will be okay, else it is back to the drawing board.

What is your first name "different"? If this works then you can go ahead and install mp3s where ever you like, whatever we have a decent video of. Must get over this first hurdle though.
