Thanks to onemoretime3 (ECB) at IDF. If anyone gets links or scans, please post here: I can't scan them at the moment but here are some reviews of Kat's album . InTouch Katharine's Hot New Sound! She won a lot of fans with her stirring rendition of "Over the Rainbow" on American Idol, but take one listen to season five runner-up Katharine McPhee's self-titled debut album--and one look at the CD jacket's sexy photos-- and you'll say, "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto!" The first single, "Over It" sounds like she's gone from singing for Simon to auditioning for the Pussycat Dollls Girls' anthem "Open Toes" is even steamier, but it's the ballads (like the tender "Home" and "Each Other" that best bring out the voice the country fell in love with. Mariah, you have some competition! US Weekly Katharine McPhee Katharine McPhee (RCA) 3 out of 4 stars Looks like American Idol viewers were right when they labeled season five runner-up Katharine McPhee a diva--not that she acts like one, but because she can sing like the best of 'em, as her major label debut proves. She channels her inner Christina on epic, dramatic ballads like "Ordinary World," emotes Mariah on sexy, radio-ready tracks like "Everywhere I Go," and still manages to belt like Beyonce ("Love Story") and croon sweetly like Janet ("Over It"). (Alas, her signature ballad, "Over the Rainbow," is not included.) In short, she's the total package. Is it too late for a recount? yay!!!!!! oh, and on another note, they reviewed Norah Jones album too and gave it 2 out of four stars. They called it "disappointingly mild." ....just incase anyone was wondering....

This is exactly what we hoped for. These are two very important publications and put Katharine on top equal to the best of them. "Is is too late for a recount?" Indeed! I can't remember one glowing review of Taylor's album, even by Donna Reynolds.

Two more solid reviews - cool. The thing I like about the second one is the comparisons they draw to Christina, Mariah, Beyonce and Janet - wow. I think that hits the nail on the head with the CD, and that is the record's diversity. It is one thing to be compared to one artist, but four, when does that happen? Typically you would have to buy two or the three albums to get the diversity that Kat offers in this one. I hope that the critics continue to see this. They may not all like the music, but they can't argue that Kat can deliver music on myriad levels. Like I said in one other thread, Katharine is like those few actors (Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman come to mind), who can play different roles and really be believable. Katharine can sell many different styles, and she proves it here. That is the beauty of this CD.
