If you have two ears and a heart you have to love this album. I had pretty high expectations for Katharine's album, and it far exceeded anything I could have hoped for for a debut album. The writing and production are top notch, and most importantly, Katharine's ~ A M A Z I N G ~ voice is featured front and center. The diversity of the tracks is awesome. Fun dance tracks and beautiful ballads flow together in unison from start to finish. There is not one weak track on this entire album. How often can you say that? Those of you who are abstaining or could not get access to the tracks, you are in for something really special. I don't think I can overstate this fact. Go ahead and get your hopes up. You will not be dissapointed.
Katharine, if you happen upon this, I am so, so proud of you. You have proven yourself to be a truly great artist. No matter where your career takes you, I pray that you continue to record music. Every note from you is a gift I will cherish forever.
How can I put my feeling into words.... Katharine Mcphee you are "____" ( I will leave this blank because there is not a word to describe her right now). Its almost too holy to speak it.... haha.. Kind of silly I know but there is no word in the dictionary to describe her right now........
Her album (wicked album).... I love all 12 songs..... Never in my life have I enjoyed every song on an album.... Truthfully, this is the first ever!....... I've own hundreds of CD's and always hated buying the whole CD when I only like one or two songs... Katharine and her phenomenal voice...created a master piece..... not a single boring song...... WOW!
I come here almost on a daily basis and read many posts... I like the way you all list your top 5 songs... Of course you list them based on the short clips that you have heard.... Oh how it will all change... Your favorite you thought was good... you have not heard nothing yet.... I know some of you didn't like Open toes... but listen to the whole song and you will shift your favorites.... Many of you will shift your favorites all over the place.... and guess what it will almost be impossible to choose your most favorite because whatever you are feeling one day fits a certain song in the album.... The next day your favorite will change..... according to your mood....
Right now " Neglected" is a mysterious and most spellbounding song I have heard in a long long time... Its haunting and most delicious.... Her vocals are yummy... Ear candy is how I want to describe it... Its very delicious in everyway.... When you hear it you will know what I am talking about....
I percieve her album will produce multple hits... more than half of them... perhaps up to 9... Not kidding they are so good......
4 days and counting and I can't wait to hear the high quality CD....the streaming songs that I heard were only about a 40% quality.....
The party is almost here and its going to be a fiesta on Tueaday... " oh and by the way ... everyone is invited".... haha
I love you Katharine Mpchee and I am so so proud of you. You were my American Idol before the show ended and you will always be my idol till the day that I pass on.... God bless you and take care!

That's a good point Minnie. Because on the face of it when we got the snippets of Over It, Each Other and Open Toes it was kinda like this. Especially before we heard the full versions...it seems like they were saving the best parts of all of these songs...
My first impressions were this. Over It is a very good pop song. But it isn't extraordinary. Each Other is nice but not remarkable. And the first half of Open Toes is catchy and fun but we all had reservations about the lyrics. Especially when the sound quality on those Promosquad samples wasn't great either.
But now after hearing those in full plus the rest of them...I agree with the title of the thread. Just blown away. Because in reality, it took me a few turns to warm to the ILY/D single disc. So that worried me a little. But the stuff on the CD...it's just fantastic. And all over the place.
You've got the four fantastic ballads/slowish songs (BOA, OW, Home and Neglected)...a few more Poppish songs (Over It & Everywhere I Go...although EIG isn't really Pop...not sure how to classify it), a couple of "old school" pop songs in Love Story & Not Ur Girl. A straight R&B number (Each Other). A funky, dance, club song in 'Do What You Do'. And two uptempo dance tracks in Open Toes & Dangerous.
As others have said. It exceeded my expectations.
