Here's seven lucky reasons why I believe Katharine McPhee deserves to be the next American Idol winner and why I'm supporting her as my sentimental first choice:
* She's a classically trained vocalist with a natural, charismatic stage presence. I can sincerely relate to KM because she derives from a seasoned theater background (acting/voice/movement, etc.).
* She handles each A.I. results show with grace and modesty (specifically on Wednesday, March 29). I respect how she humbly thanks God as well as the loyal fans who vote for her.
* She selects palatable and accessible songs to sing each Tuesday night. Particularly, the Lenny Welch classic "Since I Fell For You" (one of the all-time greatest sad love songs ever written).
* I love her hilarious sense of humor and family-oriented values.
* She looks beautiful in whatever she wears (casual or dressy). For example, in this week's issue of People Magazine (pgs. 6 & 54). My favorite candid photograph of Katharine McPhee: The American Idol audition picture as she smiles and holds her hands close together (pg. 54).
* She's a Southern California resident and auditioned in San Francisco (I'm also from the Bay Area). That's so cool.
* Although a high-stakes competition, she seems to get along well with her fellow A.I. contestants.
