Bad enough when it is done slow and traditional, the fast part is even worse.
He really cannot sing at all can he?
And the moves - The camera had to leave him at the end there and go look at the drummer it was so embarassing. I think Simon Cowell would call this one "Manic, Spastic and Cabaret - like your favourite drunk uncle at a New Years Eve party, long after the ball has dropped."
You must be on MJ's GoFish email alert list too huh?
Yup, A for effort.
To each his own I guess. I thought he was better on AI, the little I saw of him.
It's a matter of song choice. This one and the Star Spangled Banner are out of his range. He just sounds strained and thin and off key.
Just my opinion.
Butchered? Someone needs to tell Taylor to stop singing Christmas Songs, National Anthems, etc.....
Without his dancing, there just isn't much else.....
Woah, what the hell? I'll give him credit for "Taylorizing" it as he likes to say. But....I don't even recognize the song here in the middle. I guess winning does have its privileges. Katharine only got to be on a syndicated broadcast out of Los Angeles. I have a little feeling that Kat's version of "The Christmas Song" was just a little better than this. We've only heard it with screams interfering with it so far. And what you hear is great.
I guess we'll all find out tomorrow when the Grove thing is broadcast in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. I still haven't found it on my guide.
I wouldn't call this "butchering"....it's just really different. It's just...I don't think Taylor made for singing Christmas songs. When he does his thing, he's fine. That's the brilliance of Katharine. She doesn't have a "thing". She can sing with Bocelli one night and go work with Timbaland the next. She can sing BHATCT and drop down right into SOTR on tour night after night.
She can sing Christmas songs, opera, jazz, R&B, pop, country, blues, etc, etc. She can sing almost ANYTHING. That's why she's so special.
