Bad enough when it is done slow and traditional, the fast part is even worse.

He really cannot sing at all can he?

And the moves - The camera had to leave him at the end there and go look at the drummer it was so embarassing. I think Simon Cowell would call this one "Manic, Spastic and Cabaret - like your favourite drunk uncle at a New Years Eve party, long after the ball has dropped."

I was just about to post this

Yeah, I didn't think the Anthem was that bad, but this...I just don't think Taylor is cut out for Christmas music. At least none I can think of off the top off my head.

His enthusiasm should be admired though, I guess.

"I think it was the summertime when I laid eyes on you. I didn't even know your name...The boy you never wanted just steals your heart..."--Kat McPhee, Love Story

"4 walls and no you. The silence in this room is so loud...wow"--Kat McPhee, I Lost You

"I didn't see the crash that burnt the bridge, didn't see the missile that sank my loveship down..."--Kat McPhee, Dangerous

"Wanting you to be wanting me, no that ain't no way to be...You never were a friend of mine..."--Kat McPhee, Over It

"No more lonely nights to hurt me, no more tears left to spare, no more reasons to be unhappy. You threw them all up in the air..."--Kat McPhee, Each Other

"Your pedicure, white-tipped French. Your legs don't make no sense...Shoes like these make me hate flats..."--Kat McPhee, Open Toes

Haha, no.

Someone mentioned Taylor sang the Runaround live, and I was looking for it in the Taylor forum on IDF when I came across...*ahem* that.

I don't know guys. Think you're all being to hard on Taylor. I actually thought it was great. He's gotten way better since AI and I liked his twist on this song. I was tired of hearing it the same old way. I adore Kat but I've got to say Taylor is definitely getting my attention too.

To each his own I guess. I thought he was better on AI, the little I saw of him.

It's a matter of song choice. This one and the Star Spangled Banner are out of his range. He just sounds strained and thin and off key.

Just my opinion.

It should be obvious to most people why Taylor dances, plays the harmonica and uses all those stage antics. He really needs all of that extra stuff to distract from the fact of him having a very limited range and weak singing voice. I've known it all along, and this was no different. He puts a lot of passion into his music, and he needs to because without it no one would watch or listen.

Butchered? Someone needs to tell Taylor to stop singing Christmas Songs, National Anthems, etc.....

Without his dancing, there just isn't much else.....

Woah, what the hell?  I'll give him credit for "Taylorizing" it as he likes to say.  But....I don't even recognize the song here in the middle.  I guess winning does have its privileges.  Katharine only got to be on a syndicated broadcast out of Los Angeles.  I have a little feeling that Kat's version of "The Christmas Song" was just a little better than this.  We've only heard it with screams interfering with it so far.  And what you hear is great.

I guess we'll all find out tomorrow when the Grove thing is broadcast in Los Angeles at 7 p.m.  I still haven't found it on my guide.

I wouldn't call this "butchering"....it's just really different.  It's just...I don't think Taylor made for singing Christmas songs.  When he does his thing, he's fine.  That's the brilliance of Katharine.  She doesn't have a "thing".  She can sing with Bocelli one night and go work with Timbaland the next.  She can sing BHATCT and drop down right into SOTR on tour night after night.

She can sing Christmas songs, opera, jazz, R&B, pop, country, blues, etc, etc.  She can sing almost ANYTHING.  That's why she's so special.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

It wasn't that bad. The harmonica was cool. He just seems like a nice guy, his joy is pretty much infectious.
