O.K. Kat Fans!!!

Chris has his new single out now for preview on AOL. His album is right around the corner - November 21st release date. Let me know your thoughts on "It's Not Over". Kellie's country album has done well. Much better than I expected. I am so eager for Kat's single to hit the air waves ASAP!!! (fingers & toes crossed) As each day passes, I get a bit more nervous!!! Especially with all the other Idol projects coming out as planned and Kat's date being pushed back.

Kellie and Chris both have a clear cut genre so fans know exactly what to expect. Kellie is a country girl and Chris is the rocker.  Kat is so versatile musically that she can literally do any style. That's wonderful but it also makes it difficult to know WHO to target for her debut album. I just don't want her to get lost in all the Holiday rush. I'm praying for a release date in time for strong Christmas sales. Chris is previewing fours songs that are already available to buy and download.

Hugs to all, Teilah

Chris' CD drops next Tuesday, November 21st, so maybe Kat's single will come along in December. It has to coincide with her television appearances in December.

Chris' song "It's Not Over" is very good. His album is expected to do very well and if this song is an indication,  it will....

If Kat's CD actually does drop on December 19th, it will be in time for the busiest shopping day which this year will be December 23rd. I'm also worried about the timing of the album so close to Christmas, but all the moves that the suits are making in terms of release date and rescheduling of appearances are strategically made and probably be for the best. We already know it will be a great album and will ultimately do well.

Taylor is dropping his CD on December 5th and has said that his vocals are complete and the album is in the mixing stage. He has not mentioned a single at all.

Do Taylor and Kat get a single??? I don't know if they do. It seems that the winners on Idol don't get the deal all the other recording artists get. EVeryone else gets a single and a video for their new album but Idol holds off on the video for so long...which personally makes me kind of upset. Videos sell albums! I think Bo's came along months after his album came out. Is she getting a single for sure?

All I want for Christmas is a Kat Christmas CD!

I just checked Amazon.com to see when Taylor's CD is goint to be released and they now have it as Dec. 12th. Kat's release date has been at Dec. 19th for a week or two now, so it's probably where it will stay unless there's some problem with production once she's finished recording. I got a response to my email to Peisha concerning whether or not Kat had in fact injured her voice at the Carousel Ball charity event. Peisha said that Kat had not hurt her voice and that she was fine and busy recording her new CD, which she wants to be great for all her fans. That's great news to those of us who were concerned that another illness would push back her release date again.Who knows if Kat or Taylor will be releasing singles for these CDs? I wish someone with an inside track would give us all a heads up!

chris's song gave me a headache, if you call that music, I must being missing something, kellie"s was pretty good, but the only one that can really sing is kat, not being bias

Kat NEEDS to release a single soon for this cd. Her success depends upon it, but I'm sure RCA and everyone else knows that. I could pass on Chris and Kellie's but I'm picky like that. I'm sure I'll like Kat's since I love her. Hopefully we'll hear something soon....although we keep saying that and nothing yet...

Oh we need a video too. I almost forgot about that, haha. It's gonna be hot.

Thank you SO MUCH for letting us know. That news really puts my mind at ease. Rumors of more vocal problems is the last thing Kat needs right now. I was interested in hearing some of Chris' material. His album has been much anticipated and I'm sure it will do well. I respect his talent but the rocker style has never been my personal favorite. Like most of you, my primary reason to track other Idol projects is because it may give us some indication of how Kat's debut will do.

I was thrilled to see Carrie's big win at the CMA Awards! WOW! The success and sales other Idols generate will lend more credibility to the American Idol franchise. Therefore helping others like Kat to receive the support, respect and financial backing they need to be successful.

Kudos to Carrie! Pave the way, girl! Kat's on her way!!!

Well, I listened and I wasn't Blown Away. That one was a bit too heavy for my tastes.

I hate to say this but I also listened and watched him perform this song on a tv show somewhere live and my reaction is "nnnaaaahhhh!!!" I don't really feel it. Sorry.

Oh and I watched and listened to Kelly Pickler too....I have the same reaction. But then again, I am not big on country music. I'd much rather listen to rock but both did not bring me goose bumps or chills or a second look. It was just "'aight" for me....and that's a lot.

um yeah havent heard chris' and I don't care to, i don't like his voice with any song.  I didn't like Kellie's at first but it has grown on me and I like her CD--i do have to say, she is no Carrie and I don't think she'll ever come close. I can't wait to hear Kats! I know a lot of people will be biased to their idol contestant(s) music so it's all good. I'll always love and support Kat and thats all there is to it

EDIT: I just listened to his song, and wow... it is rock.

The song itself is alright, but I think Chris' voice is great. Good luck to him, I know his CD is gonna do well. He was my third choice after Kat n Kellie. The "AOL first listen" thing was annoying...lol.

I listened to Chris' single on Aol..If I'm being honest, it doesn't do anything for me. The song sounds like a run of the mill Nickelback type of alt-rock that I'm so sick of hearing. I want to hear Katharine's music, because she sings from her heart, and taps into my emotions with her voice, and how she performs..That is something Chris nor any of the other contestants do for me.

I liked the "Over You" song better than the single. Even though his style is not my favorite, that one gives him more opportunity to shine vocally.

Gosh . . . I can't wait for Kat to be featured on AOL's first listen!!! YAY!!!!!!

Oh, boy. I think Chris is in trouble. He has a better chance in the pop rock genre rather than hard rock, which is what I think he might have been going for. He needed an original sound and I don’t think he found it. I kept hearing that So Far Away song only not even that good. I don’t even like that song. Again, rock is not my favorite, but I thought he would be better than that. I knew Bo didn’t have a chance, but I had hope for Chris. Good luck Chris.

Chris is my 2nd fave, but being honest, i totally don't much like the single... Dun know why, i hoped it could make me crazy, but....Thats what i felt. Not biased.. Maybe thats right he's probably better at pop rock..(i am on that genre), Not too hard rock.. The first single can be a very big problem. I just hope he can choose better song for the next single. Goodluck, man!

Chris was my 2nd favorite too. So now that my initial disappointment has settled, I’m going to think positively about it. Pop rock is probably a better route for him anyway. The hard rock fans seem to be more fickle. I just wish his sound was a little bit more original, but a lot of people like familiarity. I wish him the best.

I'm always pulling for everyone to be successful in their careers and so I wish Chris all the best in his.

However, after listening to the cuts on the AOL page, I found that about halfway through each song I couldn't distinquish one from another. Also, there seems to be nothing to separate his sound from many others out there - I could swear that I've heard these same songs on the radio several years ago. Or maybe it was on Leno or Letterman - everytime I see a rock group on one of those shows, I think I'm watching a re-run.

Call me old fashioned,  but give me the Stones, Who or Zeppelin. At least with them, there's no confusion about who you're listening to.

Katharine's summer is full of hope, full of potential, and promises to provide many bouquets to grace the home that I call my heart.

I totally agree with you Don, that was my problem with the sample songs I heard from Chris. They're so non-distinguishable, nearly sounding identical. They're not going to stand out from the plethora of other current groups and singers that do what Chris does, but already have established big names for themselves. I wish him luck, as I do think Chris is talented, but judging from the songs I heard so far, he's headed in the direction of Bo Bice, rather than Bon Jovi or Shinedown.
