Help! I've been trying to change my avatar for a few days now, but every time I remove the old one and then upload the new one, it keeps reverting to the old one.

What do I do?

It doesn't get any better than that. ;-)

Two ways to solve the problem:

1. Upload it and wait a while. It should eventually show up. Not sure why this happens, but it does.
2. Delete cookies and then upload your new avatar. Of course, you will need to log in manually and save your settings again.

Yay!!! It worked. I deleted the cookies and waited a while. Thanks, KatFan49!

My avatar is a close-up of smiling Kat w/ her hair down and long silver earrings w/ "in" in the background, right? Just checkin'.

No, it's one of Taylor with an "out" in the background!

Just kidding, of course. Yes, congratulations on uploading your avatar--NYCSlain. I've noticed that delay that Don mentions above--and I don't know why it happens. Maybe it depends on the process of uploading. There's two different methods there--either uploading directly from your computer...or linking from a hosting page. When I upload directly from my computer, it usually has the delay, though it may be that way for the other method too. Then there's some rare times when it shows up right away.

That's just something for everybody to remember when setting up an avatar here. You didn't do anything wrong if it doesn't show up right away in your profile box. Also remember there's a limit on the dimensions of the avatar. I don't remember what the dimension limits are--but at least we can have everything from rectangular to a wide square. I think the one I have above tested the limits of size limitations...but was obviously essential for the picture.

I have to start putting together some PSP blends to use as avatars soon. Just using a pic is sometimes overly convenient, though, when the Kat pic is already a work of art.
