Don't freak out yet! It's only a rumor and hasn't been confirmed yet. Besides, Idol contestants are not allowed to take contracts until three months after the end of the season. I don't think there's any other reason why she would want to leave other than a possible contract offer that she might want to snap up. Not when she has done so well, so far.

I suggest we just sit tight and not believe stories like this until it has been made fact by the McPhee camp.

Surely this is just a rumor. Quite possibly someone overheard Kellie Pickler joyfully murmuring in her sleep: "Katharine is leaving. I might have a chance! Katharine is leaving. I . . . "

The show that this rumor suppossedly spawned from "Watercooler" replays on the TV Guide channel at 1PM EST today. I'm going to watch it to see exactly what (if anything) was said. I have a feeling this was all made up.

I watched the "Water Cooler". The guy on there said something like... we've heard a rumor that Idol contestant Katharine McPhee may be leaving the competition. If it happens, remember you heard it here first. If not, then you heard it on E! Then they went into some bit about Mario Vazquez.

So it wasn't a definite thing by any means. Who knows how the rumor got started. But at this point it seems like it's just a rumor. Overall this Watercooler show, doesn't come acrossed as the most legitimate piece of journalism.

I heard her on KROQ. She sounded happy and very excited about the whole competition. She didn't mention this rediculous rumor. I also know for a fact that she is definitely still there and in the competition. I'm sure we will eventually find out how this rumor started. I will try to see what I can find out. I hope Katharine doesn't hear this nonsense, I don't want her to even think about this crap.
