It doesn't have to be word, whatever you are comfortable with will work just fine. Something without a lot of formatting would be best - Notepad? It is going to end up as HTML eventually anyway. The important thing is to do the research!
Raises a good point though - I would prefer it be done in a very basic text editor such as notepad, not word. Word can be saved as html but it is really awful html. I don't think researchers should be doing any kind of text formatting - fonts and bolds and colors - because we will be going for a standard consistent look to the website that will be controlled by a style sheet. We will probably have people who know html working on the final preparation of the text content.
