Please only post in this thread if you want to volunteer to help hand out the glowsticks. Please do not post "I wish I could help but I live in Serbia" etc. Only post here if you can actually help. Hey Chad, my sister and I want to help I'm not sure what time we'll be at the arena (but we will try to be at staples whenever all the volunteers decide to meet up ...most definitely before 5pm) Are the volunteers still going to be wearing those katharinefans/glowstick shirts? Thanks again! Lani

Alright everyone we got 3+ weeks. Please if you are going to the venue, just help out for an hour or so and help pass these out. I will be the one picking up the glowsticks. We can find out more info on where to drop these off. We can have a table set up at the entrances with a sign that says, "FREE KAT GLOWSTICKS!" Then we can just tell them to pop em when she comes out. That shouldnt be too hard to tell people. Can someone contact the friends and family of Kat and see if they will help us too? Ill be there at exactly 5 PM. My friend will help me unload the sticks but then we need someone to recieve them so we can go and park the van. Location is TBD as soon as we find a place to. I am also willing to switch phone numbers with some of you guys who are going to help! Any more ideas?

Just an idea...I'm not sure what time the venue opens or what the Staples Center regulations are but maybe we could go in earlier before the public enters (this is where hopefully Kat's friends & family can assist us) and put up posters around the venue (explaining Katharine's Homecoming Project, where to pic up the glowsticks and what to do with them) so people will see them as they walk around before the concert... in addition to the volunteers walking around and passing the glowsticks out. I'm also willing to swap phone numbers with fellow volunteers

We might also consider meeting somewhere away from the venue and carpooling in since parking might be kind of pricey. Regarding contacting Katharine's folks: They may already be aware of this project since family friend dremomma posted earlier saying that she loves the idea. What kind of help did you think we might need from them?

Okay, if we really want to do posters, then we might want to consider how/where/the cost of getting them printed. Also, we should probably include info on where exactly concertgoers can obtain the free orange glowsticks. Here's an idea of what we might write on the poster (w/a picture of a beaming Kat, of course): L.A. Yeah! and do it with the blessing and cooperation of Staples, I'm sure they would love the free promotion - supporting the beautiful hometown girl etc. The display and bins should be the first thing people see once they are *inside* the venue, they should be everywhere, bins of glowsticks with the poster explaining how to use them and when to use them and why. It can't just be a few volunteers being hastled by security and evicted from the property

Did not see this new topics, my original post was in the other topic thread. So I'm posting it here again. Communications with Staples Ctr should be made by someone, perhaps by Kat's family member or her publicist. I know some business frown on passing out flyers on their business site. If that is so, passing out the glowsticks and flyers can only be done off the premises. I know I inquired w/guest services for my concert venue in regards having Edible Arrangement (fruit arrangement bouquet) sent to Katharine and to the other Idols. The word I received back was that it could not be done because of security reason.. Before all these arrangements are made someone needs to get clearance from Staple Ctr.

Okay, so Chad, Katidol, everybody -- let me see if I've got it straight so far. Please let me know if I missed anything... VOLUNTEERS (WE COULD PROBABLY USE MANY MORE!) Katidol (can get into the venue, with tickets) Lani (gimmeAHsherry) (can get into the venue, with tickets) Lani’s sister (can get into the venue, with tickets) Vadia (no tickets) Puyatboys is delivering the glowsticks. (Puyatboys, do you have tix for the show & can you maybe also help hand them out?) WHEN THE AUDIENCE SHOULD HOLD UP THEIR ORANGE GLOWSTICKS Chad, you mentioned something about setting up having Kat fans start a chant, right? Good idea. That should probably come right after the guys sing “Patience” (the song right before Kat starts her set). When volunteers hand out the glowsticks to people, maybe we can mention that the chant will be their cue to all hold up their orange glowsticks. WHO HERE IS FAMILIAR WITH THE STAPLES ARENA? I’ve never been there, so if there are any Kat fans out there who know it, maybe you can help us figure out the best strategic places to hand out glowsticks. If we can get enough volunteers inside the arena, then handing them out at all the possible entrances might be a good bet. How many are there?

I think puyatboys (chuck) and his friend are going to help hand them out. I am also getting someone on the "inside" to talk to some of the guys about starting the chant. We can also tell them that as we hand them out. "These are for Katharine when she comes out. Chant Kat! Kat! Kat!" I think we should have enough members here to be able to start the chant anyways. You only need 5 or 10 people to get it going. Thanks for the help V.

I've been to the Staples Center a couple of times for Lakers and Clippers games, but not for concerts. I think there are 3 entrances..I'm not sure. There's one in the back, one in the front and I have no idea where the others are. It might be difficult for many of the concert-goers to find the volunteers passing out the glow sticks (if you guys are planning on just setting up in one area). There are parking lots near the back entrance and many just go on from there instead of walking up to the front entrance where it gets really crowded. I don't know if it helps, but I just thought I'd give in my 2 cents...BTW..what you guys are doing is WONDEFUL!! Great job guys!

i've been there a couple of times for clipper games and i only know of once entrance, which is the front if the glass wall that you can see through, i guess you can have people stand inside that part and when people come in and i guess go through the medal detector volunteers can hand them out there and also by the escalator when people go up and by the section halls people have to walk though
