One year ago today (August 18th) was the day of the American Idol Season 5 auditions in San Francisco, the day Katharine Hope McPhee's life changed forever... Very cool fact, TheKingOfNorway. Really interesting to think of how much has happened for our girl since then. And Happy Anniversary, Faith Hill, having a concert that Kat played hooky from to audition a year ago today!

I'd forgotten that was the date--and it truly is a milestone compared to where Kat is now. So Happy 8/18 Day to Kat! I wonder if she had to be reminded that it's the first anniversary from when she did her San Fran audition? Since I hear she's allowed to come on here for one more day without getting too much information about the homecoming project...she's just been reminded. I think we'll be seeing Kat in an even bigger light at this time next year. And she may be in the middle of a grueling solo tour then...but at least it'll be all her show to do with it what she wants. If you really want to celebrate this anniversary, I recommend watching Sitily's famous video using KT Tunstall's original 'Black Horse' song with images of Kat on 'AI' throughout the video. The footage of her audition in that really moves you--even though you don't hear her 'GBTC' being sung. This was also the day 'God Bless the Child' became Kat's own...after being owned once by the greatest of the great singers.

I just woke up in a panic because I was going to do this around midnight (Pacific) and then I forgot. Then TheKingOfNorway beat me to it. Anyway, as I was going say..... One year ago today (8/18/05) Katharine McPhee stepped into a room inside the Cow Palace in Daly City and sang "God Bless The Child" to Randy, Simon and Paula....Katharine's world and all of her fans' worlds were changed forever. Thank goodness she decided to skip that Faith Hill show to drive up to San Francisco.... Happy Audition Anniversary to Katharine!

i am grateful that i was watching American Idol Auditions. If i didn't, I am not sure I'd be doing the same things I would have been doing now. My AI fascination started after I set eyes on Kat and heard her voice on that audition. Since then, I was glued. I have never followed an AI contestant ever. God has truly blessed her life, and she has become a blessing to many. God, thank you. Kat, thank you!

^perfectly said I know if it hadn't been for this girl full of talent who auditioned on american idol, i wouldn't be doing anything that i'm doing today! i wouldn't visit every Katharine McPhee fansite, downloading katharine media, looking for tour videos...i really don't know what i would have done because this just comes natural...following my idol in everything she does! Thank you Katharine, you have changed my life in more ways than you could even imagine! Happy Anniversary!!

Katharine is such an inspiration to everybody. Everything she has accomplished is sometimes unbelievable! I am so greatful that I was able to see Katharine Hope McPhee's journey to being who she is today. And I know she will be a legend- and she has many more oppurtunities ahead of her. This girl is amazing- she will go so far in her life, I know it- we all know it! I love Kat. And I have the best wishes for all that she does in her years to come.
