I'm sure that Laurie or Elphie's review will be better and more detailed, but I guess I'll post this anyway.

So I called some friends that I know in the music business, and they got me on the list for the meet and greet before the show!  I was so excited!  Anyway, so I got there around 3:30 and we didn’t go into see the Idols until about 4:15 or 4:30.  I was in the room with them for maybe 5 minutes.  It flew by, but it was definitely worth it.  Unfortunately, they don’t let you take pictures with them, but they do let you take pics of them.  here’s my picture of Kat: (click to enlarge)



All of the Idols were super nice at the meet and greet and didn’t mind posing for pictures or anything.  

So, I’ll just skip ahead to the Kat parts of the concert since this is a Kat forum and all.  She came out on the ground as usual.  “Two, three, four…” the crowd got pretty loud, but she didn’t get the loudest ovation of the night.  This version of BHATCT was certainly different and unique, as all her performances are.  She worked the crowd a little bit and let the crowd sing some of the “no”s as she has in the past.  Here’s a video of the beginning of the song: BHATCT Nashville (sorry it’s so short, my camera isn’t very good and doesn’t take good or long videos).  

After she finished that song, she did her usual chat with the audience about how she can only sing 2 songs because of her voice.  Then she mentioned that she broke her foot.  Also, she said that she had some ties to country music because she had tickets to go see Faith Hill in concert, but “ditched” the concert to go try out for American Idol.  

Next, Kat went into SOTR which was incredible as always.  It’s even better live that I could’ve imagined.  The crowd was loving it.  Here’s a video of the first minute or so: SOTR Nashville (again, sorry about the short length and bad quality).  

Then Kat said goodbye to all of the fans and left the stage.  

An interesting thing of note is that during the final group song (LIA), Kat was barefoot and not wearing her black boot on her foot.  Her foot must be feeling better.

Thanks for the first recap of the Nashville show. I guess Kat's foot is better if
she's barefoot!  I like  your picture of Kat too.  Thanks for sharing.

Laurie and Elphaba must be giving their Nashville accounts in the chat room first. Hopefully they'll take some time to write up a review before Cloud Nine disappears.

Thanks for YOUR great review there, efice. We all appreciate the time taken to write reviews and provide pics. That's a wonderful pic of Kat. And it looks like she had one of those days where a flock of birds flew over her and emptied their feathered colons on her shirt. Yes, I know, that style of shirt is really popular right now. How simulated bird plops on wardrobe became a hip look, we may never know. Her earring looks almost like something worn in another culture. But she wears earrings so well--no matter what the style is. In every single pic you see of Katharine (posed or caught off guard), she always looks stunning along with that affable look in her smile and eyes.

I was hoping to hear that she got the best response of anybody. Once Kat does more songs, that should change--even though I'd pay double the price of the ticket to hear her sing 'Black Horse' and 'Rainbow' live. I definitely want to see how she did 'Black Horse' in Nashville since your report make it sounds like she was doing something different from what we've seen in the other cities. I can hear 'OtR' a million more times--because Kat actually improves upon it each night. Kat's creative well with musical lines never seems to get dry.

Did you happen to run into Laurie and Elphie at this show? And when I mean run into--I don't mean them bumping you with that giant care package. That must have been quite a sight for anybody who was there. Too bad you weren't there for the after party or you definitely would have met L and E.

Thanks again for your review. I was wondering if Kat snuck in a few Countryisms in her singing--though it sounds like she didn't...other than the Faith Hill story. I truly think she's more influenced by Country music (or at least Contemporary Country) than Kat's let on.

That sounds awesome! I love the picture! She looks so cute! I love the earrings! I'm glad you had a great time!!

Yay! She likes Faith Hill!! I'm gonna see Faith and Tim in concert in a few weeks!!

Oh and for the record...this is a great review! Glad to hear that you were part of the McNashville team!!

Yeah, I know.  I'm so sorry about that.  My camera is just not very goot and it can't take video clips any longer than like a minute 15 seconds or something like that.  I wish I could've taken video of the whole performance.
