Great find! And very interesting. He seems to really like Kat, doesn't he? I think he knows a Golden Goose when he sees (&hears) one. But just because he publicly denounces the judges comments yesterday doesn't mean he didn't tell them to say it. I like the way they're splitting the contestants up tonight, top 2, mid 2 and bottom 2, we'll really be able to check the accuracy of dialidol.com and zabasearch.com.

Excellent find. It looks like at least one person at Fox has their head on straight. But I agree with Bill, it doesn't mean he didn't tell them to say what they said. And did you notice he mentioned she was a "waitress in the valley"? Think he is reading Kat's mom's messages?

It's a long interview, but to summarize the important (to us) parts, he said that he thought Kat's performance was really good, and that it was unfair to expect her to be as good as Whitney at this point in her career. He called her "a 21 year old waitress". And that she should be judged on her own merits. And he said that the judges didn't hold the other contestants to the same standards last night. He also said that "Kat is in a class above most American Idol contestants" however you want to take that.

I thought Nigel's comments about Katharine is very sincere and I don't think that he is manipulating the judges as much as the other producers are and/or Simon. Last week, he said that he did not like Chris' performance because his voice did not suit the slow melodic songs because of how he does his tremolo. And he did not flavor up his comments in fact he admitted that he got in trouble for saying that about Chris and he was ciriticized. So...I believe him.
