My first post... because it's time to speak up!!! Although I may not be a Hollywood music critic... I do have a Masters degree in music and taught music for a dozen years. That at least gives me a pretty good ear for music and a knowledge of talent when I see it. It would take the combined talent of any 3 of the other contestants to even approach the talent, poise and grace of Katharine McPhee. Her vocal control and depth of quality far exceed any of the others in this competition... and didn't Simon say that this was a singing competition? As for the judges last night... how do they come off comparing Kat to Whitney without making the same comparison of the other contestants? If they had made that comparison... they would have to acknowledge that Kat came a lot closer to Whitney than any of the others did to the stars who made their songs famous!!! I think America will speak up and put R P & S in their place and prove that last night they really missed it! COME ON McPhans... show the world that talent really counts in this competition and make Katharine the next American Idol... VOTE!!!

Bravo! I am estatic to hear an opinion from someone that has actual knowledge in music. The judges commentary have proven that it is all a game. I do not think they made any sense at last night. As much as I hate to say this... the direction is going towards who is more popular rather than talent, if America wakes up from this delusional hypnotism, and vote for the one that really deserve to win, Katharine will be the one singing under the confetti!!!

I missed Katherine's full performance, but caught the re-cap and the part I heard I though she was awesome. I heard Simon's criticism this morning on the radio and something is going on. Katherine McPhee, I believe is the most marketable of all the finalists and I really like Chris also, but feel that Kat is someone who can really make it. She looked gorgeous in that dress last night. I hope she reads this and knows that there is a lot of support out there for her. And what was up with Paula last night, drunk for high which one, she is becoming an embarrassment. Katherine keep your chin up your are a beautiful, fabulous singer and I love your personality on stage.
