I bet he didn't have anything bad to say, but Fox didn't want to show up the rest of the contestants. You didn't see him singing with the rest of them did you?

No he didn't. And David Foster predicted "big things" for her. Sounds a bit like Rod Stewart, doesn't it?

I was impressed with her singing with A.B.....is it my imagination (or poor memory)...or was she singing the Italian parts with AB.....either way, a great job...

You're right, Chad! ...and David Foster never criticized her either! I replayed the coaching sessions AI aired for all 6 contestants. In Katharine's session, it was obvious Bocelli and Foster could hardly contain themselves. They were both clearly smitten by her enormous talent. Foster: "I think Katharine has a great, GREAT future!" Bocelli: "Obviously, the voice is VERY beautiful ....powerful and CLEAN!" Foster asks Bocelli: "Could she sing opera, do you think?" Bocelli: "Probably, yes ...with study!" Here Kat interrupts them to sing (A cappella, but with perfect intonation) a couple of operatic stanzas that Bocelli knows well, to which he laughs gleefully. She & Bocelli then sing an operatic duet (in Italian and without sheet music)! Could any of the other 5 contestants have done that? NO WAY!!! Hey, g-i-v-e m-e a b-r-e-a-k ! It's like Simon said to Kat last week (and SHOULD have said last nite) "....you made the others look like good amateurs ...it was in a completely and utterly different league!" (Why the judges were so critical of Kat this week is another story I'll offer my thoughts on elsewhere)

Move over Celine Dion...Andrea Bocelli found his next partner for "The Prayer". If AI saved the tape of that duet, it will no longer need Coke as a sponsor. If Bocelli did not sign Kat to a contract that day...he's deaf.

That duet was the most amazing thing ever ever ever, I love that song ohh so much and Kat knew all the Italian(??) and everything!! We sang that at our senior graduation mass years ago but .. I love it so much it is such an inspiring song. That is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen on American Idol. And they mustve kept singing for awhile because as they fade to the guys talking after they show it you can hear Kat and Andrea continue on with the song but it fades out because they start talking. That was SO COOL.

I think we all had thoughts along those lines. After we got up off our butts from the sheer shock of hearing the two of them doing their impromptu duet. How do you say wow in Italian? The only Italian I know is pizza, volare, and ciao, Bella! which i think means something like Hey, Babe!
