To make this make sense, I have to admit that I'm not as big as a Kat fan as almost all of you are. I didn't even watch AI that much until the top three. I voted for her on the performance finale, I thought she a had a great voice, and I joined the forum just for the sake of it. But for me, there just didn't seem to be that factor that would make me like her as much as I do Carrie Underwood. My sister bought Kat's single, but I didn't as I usually would buy my own copy. I didn't even listen to it until tonight. But once I heard the second verse of My Destiny, I just fell in love with her voice. I guess Over the Rainbow was the only song I really knew she sang and her particular rendition of it. But as I listend to My Destiny, I realized she sounded like an artist. That did it for me. Now I see Kat as a real talented artist that deserves to be known all across the country and maybe even the world. She has such a beautiful voice. Now I'm so thrilled, excited, and proud to buy her debut album and I'm glad I didn't pass up the opportunity to be a fan of such a beautiful, talented person. I just thought I'd share that "...with you...".

Well I'm glad you had an open mind and let yourself in to the wonderful world that is Katharine McPhee. Strange how "My Destiny" did it for you. Now the version on the single is much better than how she did it on the show (because her voice was toast). It is a shame that she wasn't able to sing "MD" the way she can on Idol. I think that hurt her single sales. And the fact that she basically gave the song a non-vote of confidence by not performing it since the finale of Idol. I'd love to see her do the song again, with voice intact. It isn't nearly as bad as people would have made you believe after seeing her do it on Idol. It's actually pretty good. It isn't my favorite Katharine song I have on my IPod but I like it. Although I like pretty much all of them except for "The Voice Within" so....I'm not the most impartial judge on these things.

yes, KAT's voice has that effect on people. not only her voice, actually, but also her looks, her personality, her sense of humor... there are just so many reasons to love KAT! i'm glad you've seen the light. welcome to KMF.

It's kind of odd how I was impacted by MD instead of OTR. In OTR you can really hear her sing. I actually have to find more media like her performances on AI. Those are the only two songs that I've really listened to. Everything else was just once that didn't really stick in my mind. She does sound remarkable recorded though. Thanx for the warm welcome!

Others to go find....I mean I'd love you to find everything and listen to them incessantly but...if you want the "best" (in my opinion)...I'll go in order of her performances... -- Since I Fell For You -- Until You Come Back To Me -- Come Rain Or Come Shine -- Who Wants To Live Forever (one of my faves...although her voice isn't perfect on it....I guess she nailed it in rehearsals...or so Greg tells us...too bad nobody has a copy of that). -- Someone To Watch Over Me -- I Have Nothing Ha, I'm going to wind up listing everything but a couple of songs. Go find as much as you can and believe me...if you fell in love with "My Destiny" you'll love these other ones.

Yay!!! Another one has been converted! Don't feel bad about not liking Kat before. all that matters is that now you've seen her beauty!! Like others have said, now that you see Kat as amazing, check out her performances from Idol! Just go to the media section! Each one has a special meaning and is unique! By the way, Carrie Underwood is one of my favs, as you can see!

Angel of Music, thank you for posting. You know, you don't have to be insane like us and talk for days on end about the Kat in Glasses photo to be a Kat fan. We welcome fans of every scale. We know we're crazy, and when we get together we do fuel each other's Kat obsession, but we all know that she has casual fans like you who are just as important. Thanks again for posting. Stick around here and read some of the threads and look at some of the photos.
