Something has happened to me twice now since the new format when into effect, don't know if it's related.  Sometimes when I go to write a post I'll stare at the monitor for way too long thinking about what I want to say.  Apparently the system decided I was taking toooo long.  Twice now I've typed out a rather long reply and when I hit "submit", instead of adding my post it logs me out and I lose everything.   What's up with that?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to add another tip to that, Noni.

Save what you type as you finish each paragraph, because the post doesn't get lost just because you hit "submit".  Mine went "bye-bye" in the middle of my typing.

The auto timeout is not related to the new format. It's been like this since the beginning. As you know, I often post long threads and I learned this the hard way. Noni is right, always copy your entire post before hitting the submit button if you have been in the reply box for a long time. This is what I'm doing now.

I don't know if it was the same for BigShady, but for me it happened in the middle of my typing.  I wasn't finished and didn't even hit "submit".  It also wasn't THAT long a time.  It seems like today it cleared really fast for me.

Luckily I haven't been booted out in the middle of typing a post, just after hitting submit. Thanks for the tip. Copy first, then hit submit.

This is how much of a big dork I am... I didn't realize 5 minutes was a looooooooooooooong time because evidently loooooooong posts are the norm for me.

So yeah, then it was long.

But I have started to do something similar to your suggestion... I type it in e-mail and drag it here.  But one time when I did that, it brought my huge font from e-mail, so it looked like I was shouting the whole post.  It doesn't do that all the time.  And now I don't know why I'm telling you guys all this...

My longest post took me about 30 minutes to think and type. After I finished and hit submit, it was gone because I had to login again. I ended up not posting it. I had definitely learned my lesson - the hard way.

I hope this timeout/logout bug is fixed soon. In my opinion, it should be item #1 on the bug list.

I believe so, Chad! (I unintentionally tested it yesterday when I forgot to log out -- I came back hours later & was still logged on.) Thanks!

BTW, I have NOT been away on a KMF "boycot"! For some strange reason, beginning on May 13 and until about July 12, some kind of glitch blocked my access -- I couldn't even get an email through to you, Chad, to ask for help. I wonder if this happened to others too?

But I LOVE KMF and kept trying to log on 3-4 times a week for the last 2 months without success. So I was delighted when about 10 days ago I was again able to log on! I really missed KMF -- the best Kat fan site on the web by far .....and I'm REALLY glad to be back!

So far so good! I've only had to log in twice since the fix was put into effect. Quite acceptable. Thanks Chad!
