Good morning everyone. As some may know or may not know, I finished taping Christmas in Washington last night here in Washington DC and am heading home this morning. I had a blast. I got to meet the President again as well which is always fun. Whatever anyone's politics, its the President and that is a thrill. The show airs on December 12th on TNT. I think its going to be a great show. A lot of great performances. I got to sit and talk with Colbie and Vanessa. What really sweet girls. We had a lot of fun. Also, I know that it was posted that my Christmas sinlge "O Come All Ye Faithful" will be on iTunes tomorrow the 11th. I am really proud of that song and so thankful that Walter A took the time out to record it with me. I hope you guys enjoy it all over again. One of these days I am going to record a Christmas album. I would love that. I think that People.com is going to run something today about the single but you never know in cyber land. Have a wonderful day. I will be on a plane so I won't be able to read any messages until tonight sometime. I know that some people wonder if it is me that actually reads, and yes it is. I try to respnd to as many as possible. Thanks as always for all your support. It really makes a difference. Lots of love, kat
wonderful to hear from our girlfrom the early press reviews billing Katharine as a "STAR" and her xmas single hitting tomorrow is going to be super
Oh, more proof that Katharine knows what's going on & being talked about in the fandom. A response to the "Is it really Kat writing/reading these notes" question that's out there. I didn't see what anyone was talking about on the last one but...whatever. I mean really we're analyzing the use of exclamation points and capitalization? I think we need help.
OK then...good to hear she wants to do a Christmas album. I think we'd all love that. She'd got something else to work on first...that pesky second album that's going to make her a star! Then you do the XMas album after that. I guess she could release the regular one in September and a Christmas one in late Nov/early Dec. Although the more likely scenario would be XMas 2009...releasing two albums that close is rare these days even if one is a special circumstance.
Oh, she should have told Colbie Cailliat that she could sing that Bubbly song better than Colbie does.
Alright then...gotta go get a Christmas card for Katharine and send it off to Bill!
I had hope Kat would have a Xmas album this year, but I'm anticipating that her "OCAYF" produced by "Ordinary World" Walter A will be awesome!!!

While feeling like I infringed deleting Nat King Cole's image from the album cover--my avatar may be a good starting point for inspiration. I created that avatar last year as subliminal persuasion.
Kat could always go the EP route as Michael Buble did on his popular Christmas album. The problem with that, though, is that people complain when the CD ends before it actually gets started. In the case of Kat singing--who really wants to put the CD away after only fifteen minutes and four songs? On the plus side: It allows her to get something out there faster rather than a year it'll take to perfect a whole album.
One tradition Kat probably already knows about recording Christmas albums: They're almost always done during heatwaves in the summer when recording in L.A. I've heard stories about some of the most famous Christmas albums done in the past--and you hear tales of temps being over 100 while recording in some of the famous studios of Hollywood. So no Babyface producing on that one if he still likes to turn the heat up in the studio.
It's easy to create the ambience of the holiday season in the summer, though. Recording studios can take an artist away to another world sometimes--especially if not near any windows. On the other hand, we don't want Kat to feel like she's in a dark, water torture chamber as she did before when recording her album last year.
Yes, recording in a studio is truly a psychological experience--while having to prove your ability to take your thoughts to somewhere else if the surroundings aren't conducive to it.
