Well, Rod Stewart did My Funny Valentine. The little that we heard of Kat during Hollywood rounds of her singing that song was amazing. I'd love to hear her do the entire thing. =) There's my first idea. I like Rod Stewart so I may come back with more. =D

Because he's done all those "modern classics," there's a ton of stuff that's right up her alley. Not the really sexy ones (like The Nearness of You, possibly) because it would take the guys too long to get their eyes uncrossed and stop the steam from rolling out of their ears before they could start voting. Something with a nice kind of bouncy tempo but not too fast, like The Way You Look Tonight or They Can't Take That Away From Me... she could show off her pipes and still move around a little. If she's just standing there in the spotlight, she'll get a combination of people who think that's fine because they can just look at her, and some who will figure every note had better be PERFECT because there's nothing to do but concentrate on the music.

Or maybe I'm all wet because I'm an old fogey and she should really do some Rockin' Rod. I just know what I like.

There's a lot of good songs to choose from." Have I told you lately" would be great, Noni, but I think you're right, she won't do it probably. I'd like to see her do "Stay With Me" or" Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", yeah, right! You're In My Heart(The Final Acclaim) is also a good choice. Rod Stewart is a storyteller in his songs, I think next week will be good for all the contestants.

Krazy about you, Kat!!! You're an Angel on Earth!

I would prefer Rockin' Rod, but I'm not sure the contestants can choose ANY Rod Stewart song...(Like Maggie May...Hot Legs..Sexy...Tonight's The Night...) doesn't it have to be a song from his 4 album American Standards set? Does anyone know for sure?

If the selection must come from Stewart's Standards set, that should set up well for Kat.

It’s a 4 album set with Stewart singing hits from the ‘30’s and 40’s (pop standards written by songwriters such  as Irving Berlin, Porter, Gershwin)...definetly no Maggie May to be found...although Funny Valentine is there.
