I'm not the biggest fan of Queen, but whatever.  Katharine will sing whatever it is well, we all know that.

I'm going to stick with my suggestion of  "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". It went to #1 in 1980, has a good hook, is upbeat and and could fit nicely with Kat's Jazz/R&B style.

Another one bites the dust has that great bluesy sound Kat loves.
Hammer to fall is a really catchy rockin song that she could pull off.
One Vision is also another pretty good one that she could smoke.
Crazy Little thing called love.........might work?

You can listen to all of these on amazon.com music

^I wonder if everyone will want to sing that though?

Kat can really smoke some of the other contestants next week if she picks the right song. I really believe this girl can rock.

I think Kat should sing "Hey Big Spender." They do a version of it in the movie "Chicago," and it's the jazzy kind of thing she does really well. =) I know she'll be great whatever she sings. =)

Man oh man, would that be hot or what???
They'd have to cool the audience off with a fire hose after Kat sings that one!
I wonder if it counts as "music of Queen"?  If it does, we could have a real winner!

Another that might fit her well is "Somebody to Love". I like that song and I think Katharine could do well with it.

I would probably go with "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." I remember Fantasia did that song during season 3 as a big band song.

And nailed it.

A lot of Queen songs I would describe as pompous over-the-top schlock that only Freddie could pull off - songs like We Will rock You/We Are the Champions, Another One bites the Dust, and others that are not coming to me right now.  Crazy Little Thing Called Love was a real departure from the norm.  Freddie gave it a very light touch.  To me, when people sing that one, it comes off as real cheesy - something Bucky might sing.  I really don't think that would be a good pick for Katharine.

I agree that Somebody to Love would be a good one.  It has plenty of vocal gymnastics to be a real challenge and a way to show off your vocal talent.  When George Michael sang it at the Freddie tribute concert, he did not vary much at all from the original and it was great.  On that Rock Star show for INXS, one or two sang Bohemian Rhapsody, and they got to sing the whole song.  Given how long that one is, and given that the singers are probably limited to 3 minutes now (I know the songs used to be much shorter), after cutting it up it could sound pretty bad I think, regardless of who sings it.

I don't know.  This week scares me for all the contestants.

Toughie. With her only true vocal competition out of the way, maybe she should sing whateve Chris or April sings. Invite the comparison. ;-)  Or "You're My Best Friend."  No one else on this show will touch it.  Half the battle may be to pick one that the band can play well.

Hello, I think "Somebody to love" or "Don't stop me now" too, that song specially could show all her charm!

I have the Classic Queen Cd, and was trying to find something good for her. The Show Must Go On would be good, as  would "You're My Best Friend. But seriously, as others have said, Queen is going to be tough for all the contestants. They're really coming up with some tough themes this year.

Krazy about you, Kat!!! You're an Angel on Earth!
