How come sometimes I can't edit my posts even seconds after I've posted them?

Anyway, on a seperate note, can a mod please edit the thread title in the "Off Topic" folder "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRINA" to include the date of "7/5" for clarity?

Thank you.

I added the date.

As for your first question, could you be more more elaborate on this?

Thanks Rhine.

I just noticed that usually I can edit my posts, but there are times when I can't and I was wondering why that is.  I guess it's just one of those random things.

^^ I have the similar problem too sometimes. Guess only Chad has the answer to your question.

I haven't had this happen so it is hard for me to diagnose. Keep me updated if you see a pattern when this occurs.

I will let the developers know.

^It's pretty rare, although I probably wouldn't notice wether the edit option was on/off unless I wanted to edit so... I'll let you know if I see a pattern. Thanks for your help.

I am logged in but don't see the "edit" button on my posts either.

Also, could you have a hot link generator button on the quick reply as well?

I'm having that problem tonight.  It's in the forum for concert talk in the thread that Cobaby set up for us to write to Kat while she's on tour.

I think everyone else has a problem on that thread too, because rather than edit their letters, several people have posted a second, corrected letter and asked for their first one to be thrown out.

I'm also not having any trouble editing at least in Chat Forums.

Edit: Hehe, now I'm just showing off.  But I also remembered reading a post by a doofus.... who shall remain nameless... on another site encouraging people to post letters to Katharine, but to be careful because you can't edit.  So I think there is probably also a problem on that forum too, the ones for people to write to Kat in case she visits KMF.

Most of the time, the editing feature works fine--except there's occasional times when there's something wrong. I've noticed that when you quote something with a link (and then do a second edit)--your entire post ends up becoming a link too. I just about had fits trying to fix that a minute ago in the 'Katharine/Rhapsody Interview' thread in the media section.

And, the editing feature is definitely turned off in the Concert Talk forum. After I posted my letter to Kat in Co's letter project thread, I wanted to make a correction on a word--but no 'edit' button to be seen. So, excuse my spelling of 'paparazzi' in that as 'paprazzi.' A mere slip of the keyboard, but brings on borderline insanity to us perfectionist writers.

At least I hope the gist of that satiric essay still works...

How come you're not in complete control of the board functions, Chad? I've always thought you owned everything here. No matter, we can still get along fine with the editing fiascos...as long as people are understanding.

Man, I know that feeling.  I may not be able to sleep now because I can't correct "... it wasn't the time nor the place," to "... it was neither the time nor the place."

Funny thing is, I know I make other errors, and the thought of that doesn't bother me.  I don't feel the need to go through the sentences with a fine-tooth comb to check and re-check.  But I guess once I actually SPOT an error, I feel the need to fix it.

The concert forums were not created by me. Email Noni and ask her to give you all the functions that the other forums have.

Thanks

Greg, hurry on over to the Concert Talk Forum and go fix your letter!  The edit feature is up and running!

Thanks to everyone involved in fixing that.  I'm assuming Co e-mailed Noni and Noni fixed it for us?  Thank you!

It's done fixed.

Thanks, Mutt, for the alert on that. I hope you got your letter edited. And thanks to Noni for bringing the edit button back. I had no idea that some of the mods here controlled certain forums. Is there any property to acquire in Katharine Chat?

I also changed the ending on my letter to reflect that she isn't on the first week of the tour. So, really, this worked out for the best so we could update things and correct some slips of the keyboard.

By the time Kat reads my letter, she'll probably have some experience touring out of the way--so some more of my musings on the insanity of touring can hopefully hit home.

Ok, good to know.  For some reason I've always felt weird with the idea of posting a letter there, so I've never tried it.  Thanks, Noni!
