What I know for sure is, Katharine, no matter how great her talent and sweetheart love for her fans, would not be where she is today without your diligent POWER VOTING ,WEEK AFTER WEEK!! Katharine knows that more than anyone.
Some of you have been asking what were Kat's jobs before the contest happened........ After she came back from college, she started babysitting. Kat has ALWAYS loved babies and kids and if you met her, you'd want her to babysit for you or your kids. it's cause she's SO MUCH FUN!!...and cares so much. She would never allow kids to just sit and watch TV. She would sing for them, take them to the park or just PLAY!! She also worked as a hostess and 'take-out' order server for a local restaurant. Kat's last job right before the show started, was at the local mall where she sold jeans and cute tops. She loves wearing that stuff, so she had fun. Wherever kat has worked, everyone would say the same things........ that she brightened their day, cause at ANY MOMENT she would break into SONG!!! In high school Kat was on the school swimming team. I would go to the meets and when she would swim, I'd be at the side screaming ''KAT YOU CAN DO IT!" Afterwards she'd say, "Mom, don't waste your voice, when I'm underwater, I can't hear you!!"
But, I can tell you, she HEARS ALL OF YOU and I believe KATHARINE can be the last one standing!! This can never happen without YOU. I hope you are ALL getting back the enormous amount that you are GIVING.

Cool! Thank you, Mrs. McPhee, for the delightful photographs and in-depth weekly message to all the loyal Kat clubs and A.I. fans! It's very thoughtful of you and the entire McPhee family to share your personal anecdotes/insights with this wonderful website. In addition, I sincerely respect how Kat paid her dues by happily working a series of part time/full time jobs (including a beloved babysitter) and patiently waited for her "big time" career opportunity on Fox's American Idol. "Good things come to those who wait." Plus, I think it's interesting how Kat is a real-life Nanny McPhee. Only much prettier and American, of course!
I'm especially touched by how Kat genuinely loves kids and spending quality time with her furry canine companion, Lily. Katharine has an empathetic and caring heart. That's what makes her so beautiful and decent in my humble opinion. Singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell said it best: "Keep a good heart. That's the most important thing. It's not how much money you make or what you acquire. The art of it is to keep a good heart." Peace be with you-all. Cheerio (that means goodbye for now not the healthy breakfast cereal). Just kidding!

OMG what a great message. Now I know where Katharine got her warmth. That was really touching and it is just so great that Momma McPhee stays in touch with us. I really get the sense she feels our love.
