A 17 YO girl that goes to my daughter's school made it to the AI8 Hollywood round.Her name is Phoebe Ryan, and she is a singer/songwriter and I believe a guitarist. First impression: A stripped-down version of Bjoerk (especially on the first song, "largus falargus") I think American Idol isn't the best venue for her, because I don't hear much versatility, which will be big trouble for her given AI's wide-ranging yet restrictive theme nights. Brooke and Jason really got hammered once people got past their initial successes. So the show might be doing her a favor if they don't put her through to the semifinals. Good luck to her, though.
