LOS ANGELES -- Former Dodgers third baseman Todd Zeile and the club will be honored this coming Thursday, May 15 at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual fundraiser gala, "Finding a Cure: A Love Story," at the Beverly Hilton. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction, with dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m. ...

Singer and American Idol favorite Katharine McPhee will also be on hand for a special performance, as will surprise Grammy Award-winning performers.

Randy is a diabetic...maybe he'll be there too.Hoping if this duet happens.....it can be taped and played on the Idol finale!

The Beverly Hilton was where Kat sang with Cody Karey for that Young Musicians Foundation event.

my favorite place, the bev hilton, used to sell booze to them awhile back, saw sinatra there, right pass roberson blvd, on sunset strip!

Hmm...maybe she'll do LS by herself and Elliott will join her for RL?  I don't know!  Regardless, at least we'll get some new pictures and hopefully someone will get video although I doubt it.  Maybe we'll get lucky like we did with "The Prayer" where somebody's mom will be recording it.

Sweet! More performances! I was just bemoaning the fact that I'm not looking forward to my Memorial Day concert with Kat at Six Flags this year. lol I can't wait to see her again.

They apparently allow cameras in the Beverly Hilton--considering we had that video for the David Foster benefit there this last year when Kat performed and did that duet with Cody Karey as trsf mentioned. I've never understood why other benefits like this to help raise money don't allow the recording of performances when it's not being broadcast anywhere else that would end up as a copyright issue or as a spoiler. We've missed some other reportedly brilliant performances Kat's done for various benefits because cameras weren't allowed inside.

Apparently they don't want the work being done there to be exploited on Youtube or other media sources. On the other hand, it might inspire people to get more involved with the organizations. I know the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation does a lot of great things to help younger people with that disease. And many of these foundations aren't likely getting heavy donations right now because of the rotten economy.

It seems odd, anyway, that Kat and Elliot haven't performed "Real Love" anywhere together live. Is it because they both record for two different labels and need to iron out red tape? Or maybe it's just scheduling conflicts. You'd think Randy would work out a time or place for the two to perform it together...somewhere. I think the world appreciates a visual with the song, whether that be a video or a live performance.

Yes, I still think that having a visual performance helps a song even more on the charts...

Part of the reason is Kat is recording in NY. All of these call in interviews have been Kat in NY and Randy and Elliott in LA. Logistics have been difficult but I expect she is flying back either today or tomorrow for this show so who knows.

I've been listening to all the radio interviews and have noted some positives from the trio.
First,Randy's repeated validation of Kat's(and Elliot's)artistry almost makes up for the past negative remarks of his co-judges!He reiterates these are two of the best voices to come out of AI!!
Secondly...it is so touching that, whenever given the opportunity,our girl is giving props......here to Elliot!Yet another indication of Kat's giving nature and how un-self-centered she is...............

I don't think K. qualifies as a singer/songwriter yet. I don't care who signs her as long as it's somebody who believes in her and will actually push her work and back her to the hilt, and not get p-d off just because she doesn't sell four billion albums the first month but will be in it with her for the long haul.

And sometimes I don't think these organizations have figured out how to use the Internet for publicity yet, not the ones that have been around forever. Places like Youtube can generate unbelievable publicity, but some people's thinking just seems to be stuck 30 years ago. Some people think the same thing about my musical tastes, but I still stand by my statement.

I'm with you on that score, Groucho! If Katharine has someone that she knows is 100% behind her, than she will be less stressed. And less stressed means better "song choices", better vocal qualities, etc., etc., etc....
