Sexy Hair Gets Girlicious LOS ANGELES — Sexy Hair Concepts, the Chatsworth, Calif.-based firm that's known for its volume-generating hair products, has signed pop music quartet Girlicious, whose members were selected on the CW reality show "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious," to a two-year, multimillion dollar deal. ... The Girlicious deal follows a two-year partnership with "American Idol" star Katharine McPhee, who Morrison said helped Sexy Hair reach $250 million in retail sales last year. McPhee was the face for the brand Strong Sexy Hair, and Girlicious will front a product line catering to the ethnic market launching in August-September.

I'm not sure that the Women's Wear Daily (a trade magazine that's more respectable than the NY mag site, I think) article actually confirms that Kat's deal with Sexy Hair is ending, though.
Anyway, if you're a mean person , you'll enjoy this spoof: MadTV: PussyCat Dolls: Girlicious Parody. I saw a few episodes of Girlicious on the CW, and the contestants were constantly arguing with each other, putting the uglier sides of their personalities out on full view. I don't know why Robin Antin thinks that sort of exposure will lead to musical success for her finalized group.
That second story made it sound like "Girlicious" is joining the Sexy Hair crew of celebrity "faces" for the company. The first one definitely says that they are replacing Katharine so I'm not sure which one to believe there. Although I know Kat had a two-year deal and that will run out in July unless they have or will extend it. It wouldn't be that surprising for them not to all things considered. Plus, I think these companies like the get "new faces" unless the one they have is so huge that it would be stupid to let the person go. Which obviously Katharine isn't that at the moment.
Well, if someone just sold $250 million worth of your product in less than a year and a half, I'd sign them to a lifetime contract. But I'm obviously not the corporate state of mind today.
It's amazing to me how fast two years can go by, because it seems that Kat just got started with BSH. But contracts only have so much life, and it's true that a lot of companies like to revolve their endorsers just so they think they won't bore their audience. However, with Kat you're not talking boredom in any sense of the word. Her photoshoots there are continually alluring if not hip and vintage all at the same time. Some of her best photoshoots have come from BSH in my unabashed opinion.
Having Girlicious taking over seems ridiculous when they look to be another corporate brand type of girl group that a lot of people are tiring of in the music industry. Do we really want to hear about all the inevitable escapades of Girlicious as if dealing with a bizarre cloning experiment with Britney? I know that sounds quick to judge, but trsf hits the nail on the head with his comments about how they've been caught on camera acting quite typical of a lot of pop stars.
That's why Katharine really stands alone and too bad that she can't take BSH to the billion dollar mark in sales. Not that she won't be busy doing the same with Neutrogena in the coming year--plus the chance to see her in infomercials besides that we didn't get with BSH.
Frankly, though, I would have rather seen infomercials with her hawking BSH products in the a.m. hours instead of trying to convince America that she once had the complexion of the moon's surface.
Yes, Katharine contributed to BSH's successful bottom line and now they're wanting to focus on diversity. Sexy Hair too, was quite supportive of Katharine and her charity work. Congrats to all and yes, she's moving on...
As to Bocelli's comments, Goodie, it's surprising that he didn't mention British superstar, Sarah Brightman. You didn't intend a pun there, "it's an eye opener." Anyway, Bocelli's comments about classical music were said for his coming appearance at the Brit Awards which I once attended in 2005. He had appeared in 2004 as a surprise guest and darn I missed that one.
The Classical Brit Awards is the British Grammy Awards for classical work. He probably will be receiving an award for a classical performance so it made perfect sense for Bocelli to comment on his classical/opera work which is truly outstanding!!
