I like the radio edit much better!!
Excellent!
Thanks Bill, time for another request campaign!
I love that it is listed as a Katharine McPhee single featuring Elliott Yamin. Yup, time for a request campaign.
I've said this before but I think Elliott got more singing time and he's much louder than Kat. I also wish they would have had them sing together or mixed it so that Kat is singing toward the end. I know she sings runs but I'm talking about lyrics. She kind of gets lost in the song because she sings at the beginning and Elliott finishes it up so the listener is left with Elliott singing loudly (and well) at the end.
That's how it seems to me as a listener so I think the DJ's comment may have more to do with that than her vocals. She sings the beginning, he sings the end...who is remembered at the end?
Have to agree about the remix, Uplink! Of course, for my taste, it doesn't feature enough of Katharine!
This single should receive more backing than what Kat's other singles were given....if only because Randy is behind it and pushing his entire CD. Whatever the reasons for backing the single, Katharine and Elliott both will benefit...as they should!! I always liked Elliott but didn't think he had found a comfortable genre. On his Indie album, he sounds much more comfortable with the song choices than the ones he was forced to sing on AI. He is a rare talent (sound wise) these days in the male category.....He actually has a good voice and knows how to use it! Hope he does well! And, on the subject of Elliott, wasn't his mother a former singer, as well? I seem to remember something being said about her back in Season 5. Perhaps she sang cabaret?? Whatever, I have always felt that Katharine and Elliott were the "real" vocal talents coming out of the Season 5 class.
I saw Randy on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night, confirming that Kat and Elliott's song would be the next single. I wonder if Kat's heard the song by now.
She bought the album, remember? She was going to go do it after she got done with MySpace. She said it in one of her bulletins.
Anyway...as for this getting more support than her other singles. If you are talking about Love Story...then yes, probably so. If you are talking about Over It...um, I don't think RL will get anywhere near the airplay OI did.

Found this on IDF. It's mostly Jimmy and Randy talking about the album, one brief mention of Katharine. Even Randy mentions Elliott first, "Elliott Yamin and Katharine...McPhee" - her last name kind of gets lost in the conversation, or maybe Randy just expects people to know who she is, especially mentioned with another Idol from her year. I dont' know, I just like the radio mix and hope it does well. At this point I'm not holding my breath for chart toppers or Oscars or anything, I just want to see and hear Katharine all over the place doing all the things she wants to be doing--singing, acting, whatever.
I haven't heard it on the radio yet but I'm looking out for it. Nice to have made it a single. Randy could have done much better than giving Elliott more time than Kat. Well, at least, Kat's in it. I think we're supposed to be grateful that Randy took the initiative. I hope it does well indeed when it comes out.
HAC adds date has been changed to April 21st. Definitely a better date with only 1 other song going for adds that day.
Hey, the days grow short when you reach September. It's all I can do to not wish for a bunch of little Cokettes because the only grandkid I have is a 16 pound tomcat. I know, I should file it all under "get a life," but whatever...
