Los Angeles (E! Online) - Katharine McPhee's recent glow may not be entirely due to her newlywed bliss. E! News has learned the erstwhile American Idol also-ran has signed a two-year endorsement deal with Neutrogena to become the new flawless face of the skin care company's anti-acne product line. While Neutrogena has yet to make an official announcement, a source close to the deal says the entertainer pocketed more than $500,000 for the use of her fresh-faced visage. Wasting no time in touting the benefits of Neutrogena, the 24-year-old shot her first commercial for the line in Los Angeles March 16. The ad will hit the small screen within the next few months, with the print ads following suit. There was no immediate comment from McPhee's rep. McPhee is the latest young star to log face time with the cosmetics giant. Jennifer Garner is the current face of Neutrogena's anti-aging line, and is contracted with the company through December. Hayden Panettiere, Vanessa Hudgens, Mischa Barton and Jennifer Love Hewitt have also lent their mugs to Neutrogena ads. —Additional reporting by Whitney English

Commercials and Infomercials!!! You go girl!!
That's what I was thinking. We all knew this was inevitable with that amazing skin and face of hers. So glad I'll be seeing her on commercials now!
Congratulations Katharine in landing a major endorsement contract. Over the past year so many of the beauty commercials now viewed are Katharine McPhee lookalikes, so its about time we now get the REAL DEAL!
Story has now made People.com

It’s a big week for star beauty. First, Revlon announced its appointment of supermodel Elle Macpherson as their newest face, and now there’s word of a partnership between American Idol alum Katharine McPhee and Neutrogena. After a swirl of media rumors, the skincare brand’s representatives confirm to PEOPLE that Katharine will take part in a new project with them starting in May. Past star collaborations include Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Hayden Panettiere, Mischa Barton — and the current face of their anti-aging line, Jennifer Garner. We’ll keep you posted on what to expect from the flawless brunette.
WoW katharinefans, have you ever seen so much hoopla and publicity given to a person for doing commercials for a product? Incredible publicity that our girl is getting which will definitely open the door to much more
Kat's going to have to give up her hobby of popping other people's zits, and instead carry around bottles of Neutrogena to smear on people.
Is Neutrogena the brand with the commercial where Jennifer Love Hewitt is rolling around in her underwear?
With all the buzz going on about this endorsement and the buzz of Katharine doing an album with David foster has the internet going wildI really think we will see TV roles and new movie roles open for her shortly
Well, Britney's doing tv, why not Kat? Small roles on big shows. Not quite as small as the walk-on on Ugly Betty, but lots of exposure on something big. Next up is a relatively big role in a movie that may not be GWTW, or even Legally Blonde, but funny enough, big screen, MAJOR LEAGUE no matter waht RCA says. Then a new album, a couple of those indie movies coming through just to show she can do something besides comedy, and voila, making a name everywhere you can think of. That sounds like long-term career to me. When one thing cools down, something else will be heating up. I think she has pretty smart management and is taking DF's advice: find a couple of people you trust and let them help carry the load.
Now you all have me picturing Kat playing a female superhero named Neutro Gina. It'd have something to do with exposure to radioactive Gamma Rays, being able to fly in an invisible jet and...no, it's all been done before.
You know, I remember people saying on the "AI" board two years ago when I posted there (which seems like five years to me now) that they thought Kat should represent Neutrogena skin products. So when you put Kat and Neutrogena together--it becomes a corollary or, in other words...inevitable. I'm frankly surprised it took this long. The only reason it did is because they probably had to wait out Jennifer Love Hewitt's contract.
Well, congratulations to Kat for this. I have a feeling she'll be making a couple of million in another year when they renew her contract once she places Neutrogena in a higher place on the company's flow charts. She can't endorse any product without taking it into the stratosphere--so expect more of Madison Avenue to beg her to hold up their product to a camera.
What I'm interested in the most here is seeing those (hopefully not a.m. hours) infomercials and how creative they're going to get convincing people Kat had acne problems. I've seen a lot of photos of her at every age, and I can't see any evidence of her skin ever looking like the surface of the moon. Good luck to Neutrogena having to dredge up a Kat photo showing proof of this as they always do in those informercials...
Then again, if my usual belief that Kat can just hold up a product and sell a zillion of them holds up--they can just talk about her upcoming projects while she simultaneously holds up a sample bottle...
