Man, she's been writing us a lot!

Mar 30, 2008 8:56 PM
Subject: Past Week
Body: Hey everyone. Well, as you have heard, its been a busy week. The past couple of months have been really busy. Oh, and thank you for all the birthday gifts, I loved them all. I had a great birthday and as most of the holidays or birthdays go, you guys help to always make it that much more special. I continue to be excited as to what the future is going to hold. Things take time and although it seemed like things moved 100 mph the past couple of years, that's not how its always going to be. I have to realize that as well. Anything worth anything takes time. So thanks as always for all your support. Have a wonderful week.

Lots of love,
kat

Now that's our lady thanking all of her Kat fan's.
As I keep saying, patience and fortitude are Katharine's signature.
She is beyond her years in smart's and maturity and honesty.
Being humble is a trait of character that is so rare in today's young performers.Katharine set's the example.
We are very lucky to be part of Katharine's life.

You gotta love her, giving us that shout out about her 24th birthday being extra special because of us, so sweet of Kat. And yes Groucho, your right. She makes nothing, interesting. And just think, before we know it, "The House Bunny" will be out in theaters. Yes I predict great things in Kat's future and Agree all great things take time.

Agree Goody.... Kat may be goofy and funny but she also has a good head on her shoulders!I've always felt that Kat has wisdom way beyond her mere 24 years!!
She knows the adage that "all good things come to those who wait".Whirlwind careers are not always a good thing.....slow and steady is the way to go!
Someone once wrote that Kat was "lucky" to have us as fans.I'd put it this way.....the exceptional person that is Katharine, deserves the best that life has to offer; part of that is the love and respect that we reserve for her!

Sometimes when you try to accomplish things to quickly they wind up backfiring. I think Katharine has the perfect outlook on her career that good things will come to good people in good time

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. That my friends is Katharine McPhee

Well, as I just read someone opining on another site (I think it was uplink), her mama raised her right. All things come to him who waits--as long as you're honing your craft, working hard, and never ever giving up while you're waiting, that is.

Thanks Groucho, what I said was that what I found reassuring in this bulletin more than the others in the past is I'm hearing more of what Peisha said a while ago about focusing on your art and not the celebrity and you will be successful and honor your art. What has concerned me a bit these last few months is I felt that the celebrity part was overtaking her image and her let's face it limited musical success was less important. That was something that worried me a bit. But from this bulletin I get more of a feeling that she has refocused herself and realizes more now that if she wants something valid and lasting it will take hard work, dedication and a slow steady growth as an artist. Being handed that success can make it more fleeting and to some degree less valuable. That kind of attitude is something that makes me more confident than ever in my dedication to Katharine. Hey I would love to be following another single on the charts right now or seeing new pix from a tour etc but in the long run I'd rather wait a bit longer and have her get this right. She really seems to have a defined direction now and that will bring her something more valid and lasting and I can live with that just fine!

In some ways (and of course I probably wouldn't be saying this right now if the debut album had done as well as Daughtry's but...) I think in the long run it might be better that she didn't explode onto the scene immediately here.  She's done enough to still be interesting to people to get on magazine covers and get signed to a major endorsement deal almost two years since she was on Idol.  But she's still at that point where she's going to have to keep searching to find herself musically and really...and whenever I say this it makes it sound like I don't like the first album (I do!) but if that one would have done really well she pretty much would have had to do a second one that was close to the same thing.  Now, because it only did OK (I'm going going to call 370,000 records & a gold single a failure...by no regular standards is that a failure for a debut artist...the Idol world skews everything) she's going to have the freedom to do what she really does best the next time around.  So it's going to take a little longer than we all hoped but I think it'll lead to her having a longer, more relevant career because the kind of artist I believe she's going to morph into age much more gracefully than pop stars do.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.
