I don't see this anywhere here so I just thought I'd let anybody that hasn't heard know about it....

Actually it's "The House Bunny".  I always liked that title better anyway.  Although I'd gotten used to typing IKWBL (Ick-wibble!) to reference it.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

Actually I hated it when they first announced the change to IKWBL, and although I did get used to thinking
of it as "Ickwibble" in my mind, it always sounded about one step away from Debbie Does Dallas to me.
House Bunny is funny. But now there's no reason to hope they might let Katharine sing IKWBL over the credits,
which would have been fun.

Just seeing Kat as "featured cast" is exciting, whatever they call the film!

I like HB much more than IKWBL.  I was still trying to figure out a way to buy the tickets without having to say I know what boys like.

I'm so glad they changed the title back...It sounded stupid as I Know What Boys Like..kinda corny sounding, The House Bunny is much more relevant and sound more appealing to the ear.

in my mind the ultimate "Idol" contestant of the pre-lapsarian era, the one who most perfectly combined the demands for relentless emotive singing and the wow factor -- Katharine McPhee

That's probably just title change #3 out of 12. Almost every film ever made has gone through several title changes before landing on one that sounds the most marketable. The jury's out on whether "House Bunnny" is still the most marketable during the Dog Days of Summer (i.e. August). But I do know that "I Know What Boys Like" wouldn't have been--and it would have confused people in what they were going to be seeing. It also made the film sound a little racy when it's probably (or hopefully) more clever than that. Nonetheless, I wouldn't necessarily count out the possibility of it getting one more (original) title change before the August release.

To wit via CRB above: "Untitled Katharine McPhee Project" would be an encouraging one.

Let's just be glad the studios take great pains in finding a right title. If they didn't care about the film, they'd release it as is. They have done that with some projects they knew were sacrificial lambs for the studio, so to speak. I am a bit concerned that it's being released in August, however, when people are usually fatigued by all the summer blockbusters (and the summer heat) by that time. Having it release in the middle of May (or maybe later next fall) could have been a bit better.

No doubt, too, that editing is still being done--and probably will be right through the summer. Crafting a comedy via editing is really one of the toughest challenges of all. And let's hope some of that excised footage doesn't include Katharine--because she deserves every minute of screen time that was put on film. That, even if CGI is utilized and they put a digital nun's outfit on her...
