Noticed late tonight that Kat is sharing the headline of "Popular Searches" on MSN Hope Page, nestled between "Celebrity Rehab" and "NFL Playoffs"
I guess it's because of all the "chatter" about her being dropped from RCA! But, at least, she's getting "hits" big time!!
Personally, I was under the impression that Idols had a 1 year contract and then depending on how well their recordings sold, would or would not be offered an extension.
Looking at the new photos of Kat out enjoying herself in L.A., one would think that her fans would take the "hint" and adopt the same attitude!
I think Katharine has known for some time that the New Year would bring a change of direction for her musically and she has tried to hint at that to all of her fans.
I know we are all more than just a little impatient to know what is going on in her career right now but, since we really can't do anything but wait, we'll just have to entertain ourselves with katpedia.com and keep our fingers crossed and hold our breaths, etc!!!
Looking at the expressions on her face while "out and about" I would say that our girl seems pretty relaxed and happy with where she is in her life right now. Whether that is because of wedding plans, recording plans, or movie plans we will just have to wait and see. Awww...Nothing like a good ol' case of Anticipation!!!

Thanks, Moms, for bringing that news over here. Comcast has oodles of news about her (fortunately, a nice respite from them talking about her butt for a change) in the last week regarding the drop from RCA. And, thankfully, the media isn't running with this as some kind of doom and gloom story as they're attaching to Taylor and Ruben. Every story I've seen so far mention it being a fresh start for Kat and placing RCA in the position of being the bad guys for wasting time not nurturing her talent.
Yeah, we can all see that Kat isn't moping around about this situation. She knows she has a lot of aces to play--and that huge backing from the Hollywood community will now come in valuable. I've had the feeling that a lot of people in Hollywood wanted to work with Kat, but they knew she was tied up under the "AI" sword for a while. Now she's free of it, and the sky's the limit. Of course, David Foster will get first dibs--but who knows what the eventual result will be. That excitement of where she'll end up should be celebrated more than it is. But I understand those who realize she needs to get going on making a decision soon so work can get underway on her next album.
From all indications, I think Kat has a lot of monetary awards going on right now from other sources other than movies OR her music. I've said before that she's probably made more money from BSH and other endorsement deals (known ones and probably unknown) than she gets from her album residuals. She obviously gets paid for photoshoots in all those major mags she's in regularly, too.
Most people would give anything to be in the position Kat's in right now. In reality, getting out from under the RCA sword (even though I still respect the history behind RCA) was the best thing that could happen to her right now. When things aren't working in an entertainment career--getting it fixed yesterday is essential.
Sorry about that horrible color! I couldn't figure out how to change it!.....duh! Not a big surprize!
