As you all know, Katharine did a knockem dead stellar performance singing the National Anthem Thursday at the Fed-EX Orange Bowl game. we can help promote Katharine into future appearances like the pro bowl or the Super Bowl by sending in some comments on her performance. So if you want to join in like Dad and I did, send comments about her to these places
GREAT idea Amanda!
DONE!!!!!!!
Jordin's tied up the Super Bowl, but if the Seahawks (who won today) somehow qualify for and host the NFC Championship game in 2 weeks, Kat should make her way back to Seattle. Carrie Underwood sang the anthem here 2 years ago at the exact same event, so I could see Kat following her footsteps.
Other than that, Kat should do the Daytona 500, since it's probably now the most prestigious race in America, although the spectators would need telescopes to see her. The Pro Bowl is lame - Hawaii is the only redeeming factor for that event...
I get the feeling this will probably be it as far as her singing the NA for a while. Kat possibly couldn't match the performance she gave at the OB, which provided my hope here that it be her definitive performance of the anthem. Well, at least she found her magical key for the NA now that she can use anywhere else. She obviously was experimenting with different keys (either via her own or through a vocal coach who didn't find it right away) through all the prior performances. That current key would only be a challenge if she were facing more vocal problems...which I hope never happens again in her lifetime.
Yeah, the NFC game up in Seattle would be a great opportunity--if maybe a slighter audience. That's part of her second home as most of you probably know by now. I'm sure she's been trying to find a way to do something in Seattle again so she can visit up there with her grandparents.
Overall, though, I think Kat graduated to something better with that NA performance Thursday. Now I see her singing it at much more prestigious events--but probably next season instead. Of course, basketball will be ongoing into June, so we could see her there--despite having to endure an echo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o if she sang it inside a giant indoor arena. If the Portland Trailblazers make it into the Finals this year (hey, it's a possibility when they have the best record in the NBA now...ironically without Greg Oden)--Kat singing the anthem at the Rose Garden Arena would be out of this world. I'd attempt to be there live, too, even though getting tickets to the NBA Finals is akin to selling off your arm.

Excellent idea Amanda! I'm not a football person but would love to see Kat at the Superbowl. Just think of how much great exposure that would give her to gain her more fans. You can never have too many fans lol. I just sent my comments in.
Let me be a fact checker for everyone...
NFC Title Game is Seattle is possible if the Seahawks & Giants win next weekend. Audience? The audience for that would be larger than the Orange Bowl. I feel pretty safe saying that. Especially since the game will be at 6:30 PM ET.
The Blazers don't have the best record in the NBA...they've been on a hot streak but not quite that hot. Some team in Boston has only lost 3 games so...here's your Western Conference Standings!
I'm thinking maybe a trip back to her Boston Conservatory days would be more likely if she's singing the anthem at the NBA Finals.
Anyway! I think she can take a break from the anthem now. Time to start working on that album (we think, hope) and even better answering our questions from here!
I found dad's email to Foxsports
I would like to commend the Fox sports network for an excellent job done in the coverage of the BCS bowl bash.Your commentators and analysists were outstanding and I'm sure the public enjoyed the broadcasts by your crews assigned to the different games. The One exuberant memory that will remain in my thoughts would be from the Fedex Orange Bowl when Katharine McPhee gave America that moving performance of our National Anthem. She definitely belongs at more special events. Thanks again for a job well done.
Well, since I'm such a huge fan of both Katharine and Danica Patrick, I'd love to see Katharine sing the national anthem at the Indianapolis 500.
Katharine McPhee fans around the world
