Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year. What an amazing year it has been. I was looking back over the past year and I cannot believe how much has happened. I owe it all to you. I really do. You guys have been the core of everything good that has happened and you cannot know how appreciative I am for the support and constant encouragemnt. So many have shown up across the country at venues I would have never imagined. I also want to say thank you to the FanClub and fans that sent all the Christmas gifts and the 12 days. That was incredibly thoughtful, creative and fun. I loved everything. I know 2008 is going to be a lot of fun and a lot of new things on the horizon. Also, I can't forget how much support and how much you have pushed O Come All Ye Faithful on iTunes. People have really enjoyed the track and I loved being able to share it. Have a wonderful week. Lots of love, kat
It's so nice to read this Christmas message from Kat. If you're reading this Kat, I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
A tremendous gesture for Katharine to give us all a xmas message. Proud to be a Katharine Fan
I guess that shows that I should get back into the Fan Club--because I have no idea what that "12 Days" gift idea was. Somehow I picture Kat getting more than just one partridge in a pear tree, though.
It's been a while since I've been back here--but it's a good feeling to know Kat took time out of her Christmas morning (and, yes, it was late morning when she wrote that) to give a Christmas greeting to everybody on MySpace. Most notable people wouldn't venture anywhere near their computers on Christmas morning to leave a message for their fanbase. At least Kat realizes that the computer is an instant gateway to the world, no matter what you're doing or what day it is. If you're a thoughtful person, connecting on days the fans appreciate it shows all the more how unique her principles in life are. To her, doing that was obviously a major part of what made Christmas meaningful.
While Kat would never say so, I think it wouldn't be that far out of the question to just say that 2008 will likely be her true breakout year. Then again, things do take time (too much time sometimes) to develop in the entertainment world. I know that from experience trying to progress my writing prospects and all the feet-dragging from superiors to make things happen for you. After all, Kat still has to MAKE that album with David Foster, doesn't have her first movie out until August--and then not getting a true test of all those results until the beginning of 2009. So while we'll obviously be seeing her everywhere (hopefully daily) through '08, maybe Kat's true superstar calling will happen more in early '09 to be realistic.
I still think doing a Christmas EP for release late next year would enable her to have a solid CD hit around the holiday season of 2008. That DF album is unlikely to be finished by then, which just makes EP options all the more appealing...if maybe still frustrating for those who don't have a multi-CD changer.
You really summed it up perfectly Groucho.
Kat never stops making us go awwwww...
Thank you, Katharine. Each and every one of us wish you and your family all the very best for health and happiness in the new year and we wish for you everything you wish for yourself.
