Nice find, I knew it was coming eventually but I stopped checking for it.  Here is an MP3 of the Somewhere Over The Rainbow part of the audio.

Thanks for posting!  I can't believe they spelled her name wrong on that sign.  That is so weak.

Sometimes, when I get into Idol marathons, and listen to old performances back to back, I get to thinking she sounded better than she's ever sounded since, and I wonder why, because that even holds true of those last weeks when her throat was half shot and she was running on cortisone. Then I listen to something like this recent (fairly anyway) performance of OTR and the old magic is still there, and I don't know what it is. I think there are just certain songs that seem to mesh with her voice, her style, and maybe her heart. And theyr'e not all 60 years old either, it's just that this one is. Actually I think she got that going on some more contemporary songs as well (Mary Jane for instance). It's just that OTR always, always gives me goosebumps. No matter who sang it before, I think since 2006 it's become her song, like it or not.

Thanks for finding this. It did take them quite a while to make this available didn't it. I think WOW might be appropriate for Kat at this benefit.

Another great Kat interpretation of OTR!Agree,Groucho...there are certain songs that just sit perfectly in a singer's range and emotion does enhance those performances.I feel the same is true for Kat's renditions of Me, Mary Jane and even OCAYF.....and as we've said with the anthem, starting in a lower key seems to be the clincher for Kat.....plus her lower register is soooooooo resonant and sexy.....goosebumps for sure!!

I cannot believe this is the same Katharine McPhee I saw perform SOTR, my fav at her homecoming in LA, Aug. 2006.  Her delivery her poise, her new confidence all have come from singing from her heart and soul at so many events like this. She makes us all very proud of her and that is why I'm anticipating more  great things will be happening for Kat  this coming year.

We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-
