According to Wikipedia, RCA has taken down her artist page, which surely means, she's no longer with RCA.
After the bad treatment, lack of advertising and promotion, I think Kat's done right to leave RCA.
We can only expect big things from her in 2008 working with David Foster. He's the very right person to take her to another and higher level, which we all are pretty sure she belongs to.
hmm. she's still linked to from the official site in the "Artists" drop down. Her official website is down and being re-designed and it's now her myspace. We knew about that before, whether it's a precursor to something bigger, who knows, but at this point we have nothing to base that on. People like to screw around on Wiki anyway.
Kenneth, Yes it's true that there's a link, but how can you explain that David Foster and Kat will be doing an album together?? David Foster is connected to another recording company. Haven't Kat confirmed indepedently that she will be recording new album with David Foster starting in January? Btw, the link to the picture you're providing is invalid!

Katharine is still listed at RCA. Let's see when she appears at the Orange Bowl if she is introduced as a RCA recording artist.I would think there would be some press releases if she was longer with RCA.All Wikopedia says is that katharinemcphee.com is no longer available and we knew it was going to be revamped anyway
David has a deal with Warner I think but that doesn't mean he can';t work on an album for kat's. I don't think Warner has an exclusive deal with him. He did some work for Clay's last album, released by RCA.
Please consider this undocumented speculation until verified by Kat or her management.
I promise you guys will be among the first to know. =D
OK, OK OK i caused a stir for nothing. My apologies. Just hope David Foster will take care of all her song on the new CD!
wikipedia is a bit of a joke, in that it is a document created and edited by the online community (meaning anyone willing to take the time to key in some information) An overeager fan, a hater or just somebody looking to have some fun can put pretty much whatever they want up there and have it stick for a while. You want to start a rumor of her working with somebody, say Barbra Streisand, Ang Lee, or anyone else...just put it up at wiki.
Well, we have the capability to go in and edit that on Wiki (I've deleted or corrected a few things on unrelated pages while conducting research for writing projects)--even though most people don't bother and let the world of online satirists have free reign there. Straight-faced satire can be a lot of fun (and, admittedly, some of the fake stuff posted on Wiki can be potentially hilarious while passing over most people's heads)--yet Kat's page seems to be immune from it for the most part. I think the Katfia keeps a giant eye out there and twists the arm of anyone who might say something slanderous.
It almost seemed to be a done deal there for a while that Kat was at least distancing herself from RCA. In one of her bulletin blogs recently--she said she's taking over her MySpace herself without the aid of the label who apparently fell asleep at the wheel anyway. Whether that's because RCA is giving her the cold shoulder (if you're not #1 on the flow charts, then maybe you get some ice) or Kat just told them she'd prefer maintaining her MySpace herself--who knows. I see plenty of evidence, however, that relations with RCA aren't tip-top perfect--yet apparently still amicable enough for them to promote "OCAYF" recently. The faith is probably still there.
You just can't expect a large (and old) label like RCA to give you nurturing support. Kat undoubtedly understands that when dealing with the suits and is just going with the flow. Sometimes I wonder, though, if another deal with a label could be in the works and it's a little tense while negotiations keep going into the new year. After all, Kat did say that the DF deal was still up in the air. Negotiations for everything in show business are pretty much a circuitous process that (usually) result in a satisfying resolution (except for the writers strike).
By the way, I believe in subliminal suggestion--so maybe that duet with Babs and Ang Lee movie listing on Wiki isn't that big of a deal.
I think Kat departed because RCA wouldn't release her Spanish-language duet with Jennifer Lopez.
