ME TOO
fumbles on the tv tuner adapter to my laptop and hooks it up to the cable modem, switching to TNT (channel 54 here)----in panic... all right, the dvr is set...i'm ready!!!
we are just minutes away from the special starting, have my tivo set as i'm sure others do also. this should be quite exciting.....
EXCITED?...ME?... NAH.........
She opened and closed the show...simply amazing!
I'm soooooooooo mad! I had it on my calendar and then forgot to watch. I'm counting on you guys to produce a video for me to watch pronto! LOL.
Who?... Me?.... ummmm, YES!! YOU BET'CHA!!
It's on again right after the first hour......
She did GREAT!!! But of course she would.
She's our Kat!!!
A fantastic honor, opening and closing the show.
Interestingly, she's the only one that had no introduction. Wait, no, Ne-Yo also had no introduction. I guess you don't need to introduce a STAR because everyone already knows who they are!
Quick, turn your TV on!
It's showing again RIGHT NOW, and will also repeat at 2:00am EST.
I was thinking the same thing.
But opening and closing was a BIG honor, so it's all good!
OK. I caught her singing OCAYF at the end. I'll have to watch again at 2 am to see her other number.
I have nothing to say really Its just, no words can describe how amazing Kat was tonight and how amazing she is in general. She just always blows me away, and gosh...I just can't believe it. I mean obviously I can...I always knew how amazing she was but still....everytime its just like I'm falling in love with her all over again. To me, and to probably a lot of us here, she is the best singer in the world. And all I can really say I guess is....WOW...that was PERFECT!!! Oh and btw, I loved Kat's hair at the end during OCAYF. I love the little ponytail look!!!!
Thinking the same here. I concur, Bill.
I could only surmise that when there was a toss as to who would open the show, I think Robin McGraw chose Katharine. Kat is fun and beautiful, and Laura Bush chose Katharine to close because she knows the best is saved for last. You see those kids sitting near the President? They must have come to see Vanessa Hudgens. Generally, it was a fair choice of entertainers - a little bit on the lighter side (or teeny at times). Alan Jackson was surely Dr. Phil's choice. Andrea Bocelli and Heather Headley set the more solemn or rather classical part, and that choice could have been the museum's choice. Colbie is a lucky girl to have debuted on primetime TV in front of the President. Ne-Yo is an excellent mix. There must have been some debates before they finalized the repertoire and the choice category of singers: American Idol/Pop Music, R&B Music, Movies, Classical Music, Broadway, Jazz (New Talent really), Country
This is BIG for Katharine. It is a major endorsement - by Washington DC, at a very nice time - Christmas. Like Heather Headley, she performed very, very well. Big voice, relaxed mood, fun, sweet smiles, simple brunette hairdo matching with 2 nice evening black dresses. Katharine always looks much better more naturally than fully made-up. Elegance is Kat's middle name. She is an excellent choice for an evening of entertainment in Washington.
Just a few comment on the other entertainers:
Vanessa - Very pretty face; teeny voice- nervous or shaky at times
Colbie - Sexy voice and looks fab, but she got nervous and she settled for a lower key.
Ne-Yo - Convincing and nice moves too.
Alan - Sang only once, but that's because it's not his show. He's also the most established of the group.
Andrea - Touch of the classics because Christmas is actually more classical than secular.
Heather - Excellent vocals. Broadway is back!! (Katharine, aren't you tempted?) Heather kept tapping Katharine which is why Kat was responding con mucho gusto with a quick body bump.
Thanks, Dr. Phil, Robin, Mr. Prez, Laura, and the CHOIRS!! Wow, it was altogether uplifting with the choir music. Thanks, to the National Museum and to TNT.
I think, "mattsie", that I'd have to agree w/ all of what you posted, 100%. Without going into quite as great a detail as you did, my opinion of Kat's performance was, if she was "Silver", then she was "Sterling Silver" last night, if she was "Gold", then she was "24k Gold" last night! She definitely "Knocked it out of the Park", for those who prefer more of a sports analogy!
Or, more simply.... WOW!!!
Words such as AMAZING, TERRIFIC, do not come close to exemplying Katharine's performance. There has to be a word beyond SUPERB that might be what she didShe did show America that she is "THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN HOLLYWOOD TODAY"
I honestly don't think I'm being prejudiced when I say that Kat definitely gave the best performances of the night!
Yup... It was a great show. This is the type of Christmas show that they used to show all of time, when I was a kid. Popular performers of the day, just getting up and singing. I love the 'old school' feel of the show. Bravo!!
LOL HAHA BA....I was right there with ya!! I watched it at 10...11 and 2am LOL Did I tape it?? Oh hell yeah, but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad to watch each time it was on TV too! So sick haha
