Things are looking better in So. Cal--but my heart goes out to the thousands who lost their homes. Malibu has always been a dangerous place as we've seen before. Fortunately, it appears our resident Cali members here on KMF didn't have any major problems other than probably having to breathe smoke when they went out to do something.
If I were those terrorist/arsonists right now--I'd be cowering in their hiding places when you have Ah-nold the Governator glaring into the camera and vowing to track you down and throw you in a prison cell for the rest of your life with Ah-nold having the key for lunch. The man is still intimidating--and I hope they capture those who did this (they already have some evidence to who) and have a quick trial that gives an instant life sentence or worse. Then again, with those damn lawyers...
I've always feared arson terrorists--because fire is so much more horrific. The only way to stop it, I guess, is to start setting up mini security cameras in every nook and cranny of indoor and outdoor space. Yes, Big Brother may become true...but it's a necessity for our own safety.
Just when you thought Malibu was the most dangerous place in Cali to live--it becomes almost impossible to live in.
It's unbelievable the fire hazards that keep plaguing that area. And it doesn't stop there with the other natural disaster threats that are ongoing. It just isn't worth the Pacific Ocean view to live there in my opinion. Even so, it's hard to say no to a Pacific Ocean view. I know that from experience...but just not from a gazillion-dollar home or up on a massive cliff near dry brush.
Here's hoping our Southern Cali denizens here won't be affected by this yet again. Here I thought the worst was over for everybody down there--and it just never seems to end.
And let's hope David Foster has everything of value out of his smoke-damaged studio... subsequently moving them well inland for safekeeping. Nothing of artistic value should be stored in the Malibu area any longer.
If Kat records with David in the new year--she'll be in an all-new studio, of course. It's too bad, because DF's old studio has a lot of history behind it that Kat could tap into. Recording studios with major history can create a special vibe there that's hard to explain...
