Keep those requests coming!!!
wow that is great news considering no pre notices were given.
That's OK Goody. There's more good news: Mediabase is showing 3 spins today, including 1 at WKBK, Greensboro, NC; WRVR, Memphis,TN; and WGNA, Albany, NY. That's in addition to the WRMM Rochester, NY spin. So 4 stations so far are playing OCAYF!!!
To answer your question Goody, just go to the OCAYF radio request thread. There's a link there. Or better still, follow the link yourself, download the file, and email it to Stacie.
OCAYF is up to #14 on the iTunes Holiday chart this morning!
WOOHOOO!!!
THE MCPHEEVER IS RISING!!
Bringing what I posted over at McPhee Club over here:
Hi all since we had some promising news from KBAY, here's their request line: 800-948-5229 and the link to request http://kbay.com/skin/form.php?formId=5787. Also, make up a number in the 408! when you request and don't sound like a fan trying desperately to get it played, the casual fan requests are what are better. I tried calling yesterday and couldn't get through, but try sending a request on the above form and play sweet and airhead, so they don't get suspicious. Peace out!
Good morning Kat fans!
OCAYF is holding #14 on Holiday iTunes!
It's the best selling version of OCAYF, and the best selling OF ANY traditional religious Christmas song on iTunes. Great job guys!
But we need to keep up on the requests for the next 10 days.
No time to relax yet, let's get Kat some more spins!
As usual, all the radio plays start in the east and then move slowly left. I'm trying to get Portland stations to listen to their hearts this time rather than checking the trend lines.
I just checked iTunes--and "OCAYF" is still holding at #14 as of now. But I guess Mariah's "All I Want for Christmas (is You)" is nearly impenetrable it seems along with Bruuuuuuce Springsteen. Yes, Mariah's is a modern-day classic in the bushy-haired Phil Spector mold--though Kat's "OCAYF" is loaded with so much meaning, heart and vocal power that it'll hopefully edge it out for the #1 spot this coming week.
From all indications, a lot of people are in to jollier holiday tunes that are mostly secular. I guess I can't blame the mood of the American people (people do need to be cheered up in a lot of ways)--even though they should give Kat's "OCAYF" a chance to touch their heart. If you're looking in (yes, that's YOU ) and are one of those uninitiated--give it a try. You'll likely find it one of the best, emotional and overall vocally beautiful renditions of the song ever done.
